Hello, I am new here!
I recently bought my first Apple device which is a 27" iMac from mid 2010. It has an i5, 12GB of RAM, a (broken) HD5750 and a 512GB SSD. I bought it used (as you can imagine) and it didn't work, which tells you a lot about me - I like tinkering and I don't like stuff that works right out of the box.

I build some computers myself so I got some knowledge about the machines and their components but I am a complete newbie here as I don't know a lot about Macs.

I have been reading Mac Rumors for many years and finally decided to register.
I am so happy to participate. I guess that as I am on my 4th MacBook (an M1Air), my 4th iPhone, my 3rd iPad, an iWatch and Apple TV I can rightly claim to be an aficionado. I love the Apple Trade-in program, makes the purchase of new tech stuff so much less painful when you have an Apple gift card to use.

Hello, all. I’ve been creeping on this site for about 10 years probably, figured I’d actually make an account now.

First iPhone was an iPhone 4. First Mac was a MacBook Air 2012. Switched to the Samsung Galaxy S9 for a few years after the iPhone 6s Plus starting in 2018, then got a Pixel 5 in January of this year. Also switched to Windows for work for a few years at some point.

Android was great for a while but I had issues with app availability - just a few apps that I wanted to use weren’t available for the Pixel and didn’t run that well on the Samsung, either. I guess you could argue that would’ve happened on an older iPhone, too, but I don’t know. I ended up getting an M1 iPad Pro this year to have as an iOS device for some of the personal projects I wanted to work on: YouTube stuff and some writing stuff.

Then, work got really busy and complicated, so I ended up also getting an iPhone 12 Pro Max a few months ago for personal use and I use my Pixel 5 as a work phone.

Now I’m just waiting on the Apple Watch Series 7 so that I can replace my Apple Watch Series 2 that is basically unusable at this point.

Then I got really into some YouTube projects, and got myself an M1 MacBook Pro a few months ago as well.

I’m also in an MBA program? 😄 My actual name is Eric. I’m irresponsible with my money.

Oooops! I missed to introduce myself… I’ve been silently reading MacRumors like forever! Okay, since I’m interested in Apple stuff.. I decided to sign up a few weeks ago because there was a stupid comment that triggered me so bad I had to throw my two cents in! While I typed my words in, I calmed down and decided to don’t reply. Well, this should tell you everything about me.

I’m 29 years old. Born and raised in Germany. Work in movie and television industry. Love my job. I use all the apple stuff privately and as professional because I can rely on it.

Cheers.

Hi All: I just joined. I've been a Mac user since the late 1980's when my school system bought a few and I was one of the lucky teachers to get that cute little (precious) box for my classroom. There have been extraordinary changes in these 30 years and Macs are getting more complex and more essential in my life. I had dropped out of all Mac social boards for a very long time but I'm stepping back in slowly.

Hello 👋

Decided to make a new account since I lost my old one a long time ago. I’ve been reading MacRumors since about 2001 when I got my first PowerBook G4. It’s been fun watching things change over the years, hope to see many more years of Apple bringing products/services to the tech world.

Hi there everyone, my name is Chris. I've been an Apple user since 2008.

Spilled water on my 4 year old MacBook Pro in 2012 and am now on my 2012 1/2 MacBook Pro. It has both memory slots filled (8 gig total) and is on it's third 500 gig hard drive. The storage only has about 50 gig left so I'm waiting on my new 13" MacBook Pro with the M1 chip. It will have 2 ter storage and 16 gig memory so hopefully last for quite a few years.

I'm more of a motorcycle/outdoors/camping guy and basically surf the web hang out on forums when I'm home relaxing. Thank you for welcoming me into your community.

Well hello there! Decided to join after seeing the new photo thread of iPhone 13 Pro. Waiting for my own 13 Pro, currently rocking good old XR. I was an avid photographer for years before family/kids etc. came and stole all my free time and inspiration. Trying to get back to taking decent photos with the new phone and try to contribute to said thread. :)

New guy here from Ohio. I just picked up the red iPhone 13 base model today. I love it, especially coming from an iPhone 6S. My name is Eddie and I’ve only been using iPhones for about 2 months now. I was an avid android user but who can pass up the beauty of these new iPhones.

Nice to meet everyone

I am John. I am about to buy my first Apple Watch, a series 7. I currently use a six-year-old Pebble, now discontinued and no longer supported. I am here to learn from you people.

Hi. I'm a pro-amateur musician & sound designer and a co-owner of an indie record label. I've been reading MacRumors news and occasionally lurking the forums for about 15 years.

I'm a lifelong Mac user. My dad owned a small local newspaper, and since apps like Photoshop and Pagemaker were Mac exclusives back then, our basement - his home office - was filled with Macs.
My first very own computer was the infamous Performa 5200 and I grew up playing 90s Mac games from mainstream classics such as Myst and Marathon to somewhat obscure but distinguished shareware stuff like Escape Velocity and the Exile trilogy.
As I grew older, I adopted my dad's ethos: Mac is for work, PC is for play.

I'm currently planning to learn Swift. I have never programmed anything more complicated than a unit converter in Java and programming has never struck me as my kind of thing. But now I'm in a position where I simply can't find an iOS app that does what I want in the exact way I want, so my only option might be to make one myself.

I finally registered on the forums today to discuss the new MBPs which are, to be honest, maybe the most exciting Apple notebooks since the original MacBook Air.

Hi all, I have been a “browser“ for a while and thought i would take the plunge and sign up which I’m really glad i did.
Im UK based and have been an Apple addict for a good few years (And many thousands of £££ spent) Athough money very well spent in my opinion no matter what it was on even the 1st IPhone models.
I am a very keen amateur wildlife photographer and I’m looking forward to learning and joining in on various aspects of the site
