Hi Everyone,

My first post.

Just made the full jump to the Mac world by ditching my home Windows 7 machine for a MacBook Pro 15". I have been using an iPad since it's introduction and an iPhone for the last couple of years. Work in computing tuning IBM mainframe computers. First computer that I ever played with was an Apple II back in 1979. Bought a IIc back in 1985 as my first personal computer. Wish I had kept it. Always built my own home machines from 1991 to 2010 using Windows as the OS. As I get older, I just want a machine that works. Use my home processing power on music and photo apps. Looking forward to the new world of Mac computing, but have dabbled in the past where friends wanted me to fix their setup problems and to my surprise it was on a Mac. Finally seen the light.

Regards,

Charlie.

Hi

Been a reader for years. Just wanted to reply to a topic about the new "tags" vs "color labels". I miss the labels . . .

About time I registered.:)

Hello!

Hi,

Long time fan of MacRumors here (specially fond of "All The Little Things" threads).

I am the developer of Mindown for Mac and iOS.

Soon I will post an introductory piece about the Apps here on MacRumors, but I wanted to say "hi" first.

Thanks,

Just joined as an official member but I have been lurking for years. Long time Mac user. I own a graphics sign shop where were have a bunch of Macs for design. I can't step into an Apple Store without walking out with something of a hefty purchase.

hi all (hello world?)

Good morning all. New user here.

I'm a bit of a switcher, i guess. Mostly owned PCs, work on them as my job. Occasionally, i buy a Mac just to teach myself OSX. It's also why i bought Win7 ;)

Anyway, my home PC bit the dust, so i went out and got a Mac Pro 1,1. I wanted one when they were new, now i have one :D Looking forward to seeing what i can do with it.

This will be a bit of a test... Another of these threads started with good intentions... but was soon taken over by regulars.

if you just joined MacRumors, reply and introduce yourself.

This is only for new Macrumors users... only users who registered within two months of the current date may reply...

All other users posts will be deleted. (moderators, please enforce this). This will be for myself included... only comments by truely "new" users will be allowed in this thread.

Discuss away...

(this could fail miserably if no one replies :) )

Hi there all....been using MacRumors for a while now but never signed up to post. I started with Macs a few years back now with a TiBook G4 at the time when they were making the transition to OS X, so at that point I dual booted OS X/9 mostly used X though as I preferred it and it was the future. I was coming from Windows XP and the Dock was really nice to use and I generally preferred it. Not to mention how beautiful I though the PowerBook was, I had never seen such a well designed computer and felt quite privileged. It took a long time to save up for but a friend of mine was using a Mac at college to make music on and told me it had fewer problems than the PC's and crashed less. I was also interested in making music and had a preference for Logic, just needed a machine to run it on hence the switch. Later I got a Core Duo iMac and now a lower end Mac Mini and MacBook Air 11" which I love very much. I will likely use both Macs and PC's now as I just kinda like computers a lot and my PC is mostly used as a gaming machine, I kinda like to keep a foot in both camps. But to be honest I do prefer using my Mac and OS X. Have been watching the WWDC keynotes since Steve was doing them and it's always exciting to see what Apple are up to next.

Really need to save up for a MacBook Pro Retina, but it's gonna take a while. I just got my PC fixed which was out of action for nearly a year as I had no idea what was wrong with it but we have a computer guru up here that helped sort it out so now I have a nice beefy 2Gb graphics card in it which should be fun, and I can now probably run WoW with pretty good graphics settings/framerate.

So anyway just thought I'd say hi...

I work through a company for apple. We are contracted. I work Customer Service and man are apple customers crazy! I should share some of the stories I have. I am new on Macrumors and I go on this site everyday at work. I decided to create a profile so I can like and comment. The only product I own is the iPhone 4. I work on an iMac 21 inch at work and it is beautiful. It is the 2009 version. If you guys wonder what I my job consists of I'd be happy to tell. I cancel/return ONLINE orders. I place orders for iPads, iPods, ect. I do not place orders for computers. I transfer to my MacExperts team they handle all that! I also get calls from customers that say " I bought my iPad at walmart can I return it at the apple store" hmmm Im definitely very sorry about that but no. Also customers get APPLE store gift cards sent to them instead of iTunes gift cards. **FYI iTunes cards that you want emailed have to be purchased through the iTunes store not the apple store. I get that a lott! I love my job because I can do a lot for the customers that do end up running into issues with there orders. Plus I work on an iMac.. its a given:p I get to talk to the nicest people and the rudest people. If anybody has any questions feel free to ask. I'm 18 years old and never thought I'd be working for Apple hahha:apple::apple:
