I am new to the forum but not to macs.

I own 2 iPhones, 2015 Macbook Pro, 21.5" iMac, and a new 2017 27" iMac (4.2ghz processor) showing up this week! Very soon, I plan on getting an Apple Watch to finish off my collection. Seeing I am a college student, I qualified for the education discount and the big discount for Final Cut Pro X, Motion, Compressor, and Logic Pro X. I also picked up my new Beats Solo 3 Bluetooth headset which was offered for free with my iMac order!

My wife used to have a PC laptop which had random issues on a daily basis. I had to fix her stuff regularly and then one day, I lost my mind and bought her a 2015 21.5" iMac. She has been using it for the past several months and I haven't heard one peep out of her concerning technical help. She will ask me a couple questions on how to use the Magic Mouse and that's about it!

I currently have a gaming PC which I plan on dumping for my 27" iMac. I have had zero issues with my gaming PC but I am not a power user nor do I want to spend a lot of cash for upgrades anymore. I guess I have to grow up sometime! I am looking forward to integrating the rest of my Apple products into my iMac! Also, I plan on hooking up my other 27" monitors to my iMac as well!

Hi.
I’ve been following McRumours site for years (I don’t remember how many...). I’ve been paying attention to the Forum for some months. It’s a discovery, as there’s a lot of info and interesting opinions from cultivated and polite people.
I met Apple working with a Performa at job. I don’t remember the model, but it was quite an interesting machine: dual motherboard, intel pc+motorola mac. I started working in the pc side... but then I discovered mac OS! (You could change between the two systems with a keystroke, an copy&paste between them!).
A lot of Apple devices later, I realize I love these machines and software.
Macs help me in my job, help me to think & write. I have my books and my music digitally stored, also. And there’s always spare time to play or try some art crafting.
I work as a philosopher in Spain (no jokes, please. I think, write & teach, and get paid).
Reading MacRumours is a joy for me, and I learn a lot. Thank you all!

Hi All, I greet you well.

I've been in and out of this forum a few times, just as an observer. Thought I join and get some notifications of the great input here by this forum's learned members. Must admit now, I'm not the staunch apple supporter that I used to be, my brother and I always argued over apple -v- Andriod, but now I'm having to apologise and buy him the beers. I seriously think we have all been let down by apple in recent years and, indeed, duped and ripped off (iOS 11, 11.0.1, 11.0.2).

Good luck to all on these forums, aye,
Martin

Hi there,
I'm relatively new to the Mac world. I used one in college, back in the day (2004), and just recently i've got into PowerPC Macs again, i've bought 3 on eBay over the past couple of years. A G5 for £15, An iMac G4 also for £15 and most recently a PowerMac G4 for £5! Coming from the Amiga scene where you can pay anything from £200 to £700 for a CPU card, these prices are crazily good. Seems like a sound investment, because they were so ahead of their time and still fun to use today.

hi,
good place to try my first post? not very good with forums and neither english.
my first mac was a Plus, then an ... what was the name ... IIci, SE30, 650, 840av, 950, 8500, iBooks and Powerbooks and maybe more I don't remember, always some years behind for financial reasons.
Lost a lot of data on the way, from FS(?) to HFS to OS7 to HFS+ to OSX, from one Computer to an other, Program updates, HD crashes, Driver Problems, ... . Still miss System 6(Classic)!
2005 I bought an PB G4 1.67 LowRes PB5.6, first Computer in a long time, that felt really good, with X 10.4 that is (had 10.5 for a month max).
Last year I bought a MBP unibody Mid 2012 HiRes Antiglare MBP 9.1, for connectivity only, if apple don't change policy it will be my last.
Well, not true, I ruined my PB G4 (Coffee and Cigarets and Overwork), and finally found a PB G4 1.67 HiRes PB5.8 last week.
I will need your help get it up and running, are you ready?

Hello! Very grateful for MacRumors as a great resource, as I'm quite ignorant about computer and technology. Just started to use an iPhone last year and a MacBook a few months ago. This site and the discussions here have been helping me to become a better user of my Apple products as an average consumer as well as make more informed purchasing decisions. Thanks!

Just joined as a means to learn more and for the ability to ask questions that might expand upon what I get at the Apple Store.

An 'old computer guy' originally going back to 70's (mainframes, assembler language, core dumps, COBOL) but also having spent a working career in manufacturing operations and related business systems (ERP) and having had some various I.T. oversight and led implementations.

Now retired and somewhat adequate (but not the greatest) on all the 'latest technology', and having sworn off of frustrations with 'PC's and Microsoft', have now moved on exclusively with Apple (iMac, iPad, iPhone, Apple TV). This year gaining a better understanding of the usage and the convergence of Apple products and software.

Most recently beginning now to attempt a very large project of converting (VHS) home videos and editing into MP4 movies using iMovie and as such have much to learn.

Hoping MacRumors will develop into a very useful resource and an opportunity to learn and have contact with other users.

New Member Phimean618 here is just now getting feet wet and confused at trying to find my original post. AHA!! History button. Wake my cat and he will rip out your family jewels.
