This will be a bit of a test... Another of these threads started with good intentions... but was soon taken over by regulars.

if you just joined MacRumors, reply and introduce yourself.

This is only for new Macrumors users... only users who registered within two months of the current date may reply...

Well Hi everyone - oldie here - having spent 30 years working & programming in Windows (well VBA in MS Office really) I decided to find out what Mac was all about. Mixed feelings as you would expect from a Newbie (but learning that if expect it on the right look left etc) Struggling with Office for Mac MS has really not supported it's Mac offering at all (shame on you Microsoft). Loving everything I try to do which is creative, Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator - frustrated any time I try to do financials - Accounts, Excel....
Looking forward to learning and finding answers plus things I never knew I needed here!

Is there a way to do a dark theme on the forums?
Depending on your device and browser, you can sometimes enable 3rd party plugins to do such things. Firefox is good for this, and I tend to browse in dark mode using that when at night. That is on an Android device though.

You can also enable (on iOS) intelligent Invert Colors on iOS, which will make your screen mostly black. Much easier on the eyes for sure!

Since this thread was created in 2001, I fell compelled to introduce myself. I've been a Windows and Android guy forever but decided to thread myself to a Black Friday MacBook Pro. I'm really enjoying learning iOS just for a change and won't get into any Windows/Mac flame war as each has a purpose depending on one's needs. Now I just have to read through years of posts to catch up!

Hello guys!

I've been lurking around this forum for years but I never officially introduced myself.

I'm a 26 year old guy from Egypt and I've recently moved to Liverpool in order to study for a Master's Degree in Mass Communication with a focus on Digital Media.

I consider myself a tech enthusiast which is why I always find my way back here even after a long absence. I am a fan of Apple products, especially Macintosh computers. I bought my first MacBook back in 2008 and I've been hooked ever since. I've noticed that there has been a gradual decline in innovation when it comes to MacBooks lately which is why I'm sticking to my 2015 MBP and not interested in upgrading any time soon. In fact, I only upgraded from my 2010 MBP because its hard drive was dying, optical drive stopped working, and it needed a RAM upgrade so I thought buying a new MacBook altogether made more sense.

I must say that I've learned so much about the world of Macs just by lurking around the forum and by constantly asking questions and receiving great and informative answers, so I'm thankful for that.

Keep up the good work guys!
