Official "Waiting for Santa Rosa" thread.

A tremor in the Force. The last time I felt it was in the presence of the last MacBook upgrade.

So will Apple follow Dell and release the ultraportable w/LED tomorrow? I wasn't expecting it for months. I still predict no LEDs in the 15" MBP, but I hope I'm wrong.

Exciting stuff... MacRumors will certainly be my first web surf of the day tomorrow morning.

...and then MacRumors to read all the posts of people whining about how disappointed they are.
 
hmm... i really hope it comes out tomorrow... Even though i dont have the money, i guess its time to start begging the parents.

Anyways... Since the Mbp, possibly new Mb, and Imac are being updated in a week, wouldn't there be a backorder of them because of the demand? And if they do get updated, what are the chances that the price will increas ( didn't happen with the mb).

I don't have a clue where this guy is coming up with anything he posts, but it is all off. The keynote is at 10:00AM PCT, which is 1:00PM EST on Monday, June 11th.

lol... What's with you, man? Go have a read at the other thread, TFT is a type of display and not a backlight, and 2.4GHz IS Santa Rosa. Scrambledwonder and I both explained it.

As for the time of the keynote, I said "I believe it takes place at 2pm" because I looked up the WWDC schedule for JaredWickerman and saw a "Mac OS X State of the Union" scheduled for 2pm. I wasn't sure if that was Steve's keynote but I thought I had heard that time before, so I assumed it was.

ok and clearly that was wrong, so I offered correct information.

And I never said TFT was a backlight, simply that it is more commonly associated with LCD, which is it a hybrid version of and that it is odd not to see LED explicitly listed there otherwise since Steve took the effort of writing a very detailed letter addressing incorporating LED technology into the Mac lineup.

Thanks. Funny thing is... My PowerBook HASN'T made it to the release... well in the form that I have maxed out my HD and the thing is running slower than a turd trying to go down the ******* sideways. Now I need to decide on waiting for the 17" WHhaaaaa!

Its been a long journey guys, but we finally reached the promised laptop. Pats on the back all round, round of applause. TO THE APPLE STORE!!!! :D

Yej, the long wait is over, finally!

Can't wait to order the shiny soon-to-be-mine MBP!
I really appreciate the price cut they gave us in Belgium. Makes me want to spend more cash on upgrades :D. The default 2GB is nice too!

So erh... who's gonna do the first review of 'em? Post pics when you get them!

no because the imac and the macbook are not santa rosa yet. and after that we wait for the mini to go santa rosa. so this thread will be around a very loooooong time:D

i guess i'll go for the white MB as intermediate and join the waiting for montevina/penryn thread. was fun to be with you guys and i hope we meet in another waiting for thread. kudos to wrxpert for making the wait bearable :D

So this is a quote from the apple page. Is the 17" model LED or what???
Its a bit cryptic the way they worded that sentence.

The general concensus from other threads seems to be:

There is no LED in the 17". There is LED backlighting in the 15", but even that is still behind an LCD screen.
 
either way... the 17" screen was updated. So it will not have the "grainy" problems of the others?

And this is the Santa Rosa chip for sure yeah?
