I am thinking about calling Apple sales in the morning and trying to figure out if there will be any in stock at the Woodfield mall location tomorrow, then leaving and getting there before 10 AM when they open....hopefully this will work, otherwise it will be a waste of a trip.

True, but I am getting the feeling that the possible MacBook Pro release tomorrow is surrounded in more secrecy than as was the case with the last MacBook release. We still have no 'confirmed' specs while we did have that with the last MacBook release since about the Friday before...

Could it hence be that the update is bigger than anticipated?

We didn't have any specs for the MacBook ahead of time... Remember? Everyone was so pissed when it was just a minor upgrade :D

I have been waiting awhile to purchase my first apple computer and I'm leaning towards the MacBook Pro. I would like to see an LED based 17" model, with the Santa Rosa CPU and a Blu-ray drive. I'm suprised Apple has not announced any plans of what they are going to do with Blu-ray. They are part of the BDA, come on Apple!

Yeah, they haven't ordered any 17" LEDs so you might as well remove that one from your wish list to avoid disapointment. 15" MIGHT have them, and they ordered 13" for 3rd quarter sales. But there actually has been no mention at all of a 17".

I'm sure apple will launch the new pro line with the 15", but will mention that the 17" will be released in the coming months.

Just because there has not been a rumor about Apple ordering 17'' LED lit displays it doesn't mean that they haven't ordered them... Or what? I mean, it must be possible that it simply hasn't been discovered that they ordered xxxx number of 17'' LED lit displays...

Where can I see what size screens Apple has ordered? That seems like a rumor to me!

Just had to post once before the thread ends (tomorrow hopefully! :) ).

Is it likely for the new MBP to incorporate a slightly different case design and/or user replaceable hard drives (without voiding your warranty)?

So... I am well used to my 17" PB. If the 15" are the only ones to receive the LED screens I will be forced to decide to downsize. Whats everyones thoughts on this: If you were to decide between an updated MBP with a 15" LED screen or a standard 17" LCD, what would you do. That is if you were accustom to a 17" screen already. (As I am)

Me personally, as much as I will hate waiting... I may have to wait, as I am a designer and photographer and NEED the real estate.

Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray for a Santa Rosa M B P. If my PowerBook G4 dies before the release date, then Mr. Jobs you can 'F off mate. Amen

LOL, nice sig!

What will we all do if the MBP update is as minor as the MacBook's? Honestly, why would they release it tomorrow (aside from WWDC) if it's a big upgrade (like LED screens!). I don't know.. it's just that, as time gets closer to June 5, I'm starting to have doubts.

what time is the keynote tomorrow? are they broadcasting it online or on TV?

There won't be any 'keynote' or presentation. At the least, you'll just see the new models in the Apple Store and a minor press release in the "Hot News" section, and possibly a newspaper ad or two at most. This is providing they do release it tomorrow.

The keynote's not until the 11th, in a week. I believe it takes place at 2pm PST/5pm EST. As for the MBP update, it would happen at roughly 6am PST/9am EST.
