Gotta keep that $500 price range. Can't have everything the $900 phones have and still be affordable.

Understandable. But, water resistance is sort of table stakes at this point (can’t use/don’t need wireless charging), at least for me and that means I’m likely looking towards the higher part of the price range for any future phones.

Kinda makes the Pocofone a good deal, not necessarily better value but not too shabby.

I think if you read the interview with the OP CEO he said part of the reason for not certifying is you have to pay to have it certified or IP ratings. He said it would add another $30 to the phones so the decided to skip the IP certification. But pretty much the phones were IP67 anyway

Yeah, well considering OnePlus’ track record, forgive me if I don’t immediately take them at their word. ;)

How much is the larger 6T rumoured to be? I’ve been looking into Android phones (switching from a 7 Plus because I’m too poor for neue-Apple) and I’m kinda torn between the upcoming Pixel 3 XL and this.

Less than $600 for 64GB HD and 6GB ram. Forget about others, I have a Oneplus 5 in hand, it is way better than the flagships, fast charging battery and fast response with 6GB ram. It could be lot better with 8GB, of course will cost more, yet it is worth it.

Physically the same size as the OnePlus 6. So, a little bit smaller than the iPhone Plus sizes or the XS Max.

Me too, but I'm seriously considering waiting for the OnePlus 7. By then the new Snapdragon 7nm SoC will be powering it and it will be just a tad bit more future proof.
I think the current gen is pretty future proof in that we really do not do much to tax the SoC. The OPO as a whole has been pretty good at pushing security updates and OS updates to their phones.

People on that feed are freaking out thinking the announcement is that it has a headphone jack.
Hey who doesn’t hope for that. Even I wish it would have one, though I am not getting one. I just want to see the trend of removal grind to a halt.

Finally a notch that I can live with. That's seriously good looking. I hope it looks exactly like that.

I’m conflicted here. The 6T is nice but I think the 7 will be worth waiting for. People always say that, but my guess is the 7 will have the 7nm 855, as well as possible 5G support. If not the 7, then the 7t. I’d hate to spend $6xx on a 6T when all these legit huge upgrades will be here in the spring with the 7. I only lost $60 on my original OP3 that I kept 3 months, but still.

As long as Oneplus is selling their device via a carrier in US such as Tmobile, that put them in a main stage to fight with other competitors.
