Actually if this thing supports CDMA and good Sprint bands, I might get one and dump my galaxy s7e.

Long shot I know...

I hope they don't allow the merger. They didn't allow it with AT&T. The fewer major carriers we have, the higher the prices will go.

Your concern is very real. However, I do not believe that either T-Mobile or Sprint can deploy a 5G network on their own.

I'd rather have three 5G networks in the U.S. rather than two 5G networks and two discount cellular carriers.

4G LTE networks aren't even mature in the U.S. Most 3G networks aren't even utilized 100%. Sometimes technology doesn't need to be rushed.

I am so glad they are rushing to get 5G rolled out.......
Imagine speeds of 700-800 megabit downloads speeds. I am not concerned if 4G is not matured if something better and faster can replace it.

With Xfinity in the carrier market, there are 5 major carriers, with Sprint being the weakest, law of jungle says the fittest survive, tmobile merging with Sprint looks like a done deal like
it or not.

Does Xfinity have its own physical cellular network? I thought they were a Mobile Virtual Network Operator using a combination of Verizon's network and their own WiFi access points.

How do you define "mature" in this case?

5G will be a huge disruptor in that it will be direct competition to the cabled/wired internet service providers.

Mature as in it doesn't even come close to theoretical maximum download speeds. I am sure 5G will finally give us true 4G speeds though.

I'd be fine with 4g and extended coverage and better building penetration. Why not that instead of 5g and limited coverage...

Oh yeah... Wait...

Then they can't hike prices up more on new handsets and service fees :rolleyes:

You are right xfinity does share verizon network with joint venture involved Charter, the FCC consider xfinity an entry to carrier market.

Funny.. Then we should avoid Nintendo as well, because even the name comes from Japans criminal organizations (yakuzas). Even the founder was a criminal, and their first products were cards for gambling (illegal at that time in Japan). Later on the company was in taxi business (!), and even food products (famous rice cookers), etc.

So your point is?

Their last suspicious conduct was in January 2018. We’re still in 2018. Don’t excuse their behavior or act as though it’s still not a *present* issue.

And google was caught several times tracking you even if you opted out of tracking. So it seems to me that it is a complete oxymoron to be worried about privacy, and then choosing android.

For those who wants to stay away from buying OP do so else petition Uncle Sam to ban the products. Another option is if you find a better device buy it.

The 6t is looking to be quite the power house of Android phones. Probably the best performing Android phone of 2018.

But with OnePlus a few things always concerns me.

- Display ? Will it be close as good as the Pixel 3 XL or iPhone XS Max screens ? Will it be bright enough

- IP rating ?

- Camera ? I'm not expecting Pixel 3 good, but where will it fall in for smartphone cameras this year?

No IP rating and the OP6 camera was supposedly on par with the iPhone X and iPhone 8 so it's no longer a nice phone with horrible camera. Not sure on the display.

Screen outsourced by Samsung ought to be good enough.

I would personally stay clear from a company that started off, making Nintendo clones, way back in the 90's. Yes, that the origin of BBK Electronics, parent company of Vivo, Oppo & One Plus.

http://www.thedigitalindian.in/technology/know-oneplus-oppo-vivo-owned-company/
BBK in their native language loosely translates 'one step ahead'. It is diversification, Yum brand owns Pepsi, KFC and so on. Toyota owns Lexus.
so what is the problem?

Display on OP6 is great, and brightness is absolutely great as well. I should know, since I own that device, and I live in a country that has more sun then I would actually like, so screen brightness is really important to me. Will it be as good as iP XS Max? Doubt it. But it will be on par with Pixel, or even better. Pixel 2 XL had a lousy screen, while OP has really great screens since OP3.

- IP rating ?

Doubt it. To get the ratings you need to shell out some money, and OP isn't willing to do that. But you have youtube tests that prove OP can handle water just fine. I personally don't have any examples of accidentally pouring water/beer over mine, so can't say I have personal experience.

Camera on OP6 is really good. But not as good as on iphone/samsung/huawei/pixels. But by no means bad or lousy camera, I would say 8/10. But then again, I'm really not into cameras, so take this with a grain of salt :)

thanks for the replies yeah I'm not really a big camera guy either on the phone I think it's silly how people go crazy over cameras on smartphones and spend all these this with you time on the camera like who ****ing cares it's a phone number one buy a nice camera if you're really into photography.

By far my number one deciding factor in a phone is the operating system is it smooth zero lag does it perform fantastic?

My second thing I look for in a smartphone as battery life not necessarily the largest battery but does it have long battery life minimum to get 6 hours screen on time

3rd and probably be the display I want a bright display Ana colorful display that's important

and I suppose fourth would be the camera as long as it's pretty good and the top 5 cameras a phones at your ad be happy

I owned an OP5 64GB, it has no lag, 128GB would be even better.
Fast forward to OP6 with Android pie and 8GB should be lightning fast.
"I'm shocked by how fast this phone is." From Cnet review.

I read a rumor that this may work on Verizon, fingers crossed!

I'd love for you to tell me which ones, and that are roughly the same price or less.

Don’t care about the price to be honest. I think you can figure out which smartphones have a better camera, display, battery life etc. That is worth the extra bucks EASILY.

Well, this is the biggest reason I'm purchasing OP phones every year. Oxygen OS is just a stock android, but with few small and well thought out tweaks. As far as speed goes, nothing comes even fast to OP phones. And I own or I have owned almost all major phones. Currently owning OP6, Note 9, iPhone X and Huawei Mate 10.

From all those, OP6 is fastest by far. And this thing can hold almost 20 games/apps in memory, so there is no reloading of anything once I switch back to specific app.

My second thing I look for in a smartphone as battery life not necessarily the largest battery but does it have long battery life minimum to get 6 hours screen on time

Well, that all depends on what you use your phone for. For example, I can get around 5h on my Note 9, and around 4h:30 with OP6. But most of my battery is used by audible or music players, so those don't use screen at all. And I always leave everything on, from bluetooth, wi-fi, auto brightness, etc.

But the big selling point for OP phones is dash charging. Compared to dash charging, my Note 9 charges really slow, and iPhone seems like it's not charging at all. Plug your phone in for 20-30 mins, and you're set for almost entire day. And OP6T should drastically improve on that :)
