Another step closer to rooting going bye bye?

Didn't their parent company do this for a bit before shutting the door? Maybe it was Huawei I'm thinking of?

My guess is the T-Mobile model OnePlus 6T will have a locked bootloader. But the OPO 6T brought from OPO will probably not have a locked bootloader.
Much like the Verizon Pixel models have locked bootloaders. But Pixels bought directly from Google have an unlocked bootloader.
I think this is a requirement from the carriers for support issues.

It is a flagship killer in US. Minus water proof and wireless charging. Yet the fast charge, 2 percent per min and on screen finger print sign bring it up a notch.

Keeping an eye on this one. May very well be my next phone. :) That notch actually looks good!

Word is, the on screen finger print is supposed to be, so so. It doesn't use the technology people say is better, it uses something like on top of the screen but not the better in the screen tech or something ?

Camera ? Will it be as good as the Pixel 3 or iPhone XS ? Or at least close ?

IP68 water resistant would be nice, but not a huge deal.

Wireless charging, eh, whatever.

I am curious to see their version of gesture navigation. And the way they tweak and put Android Pie on steroids, that's OnePlus's specialty

Imo I thought the one plus 6 was already close to the pixel 2 and Xs. I have watched blind comparison videos with the pixel 2, note 9, Xs and one plus 6. I usually choose the pixel 2 or one plus pics.

I really think the OP7 is the one to wait for. Next year could bring some huge gains thanks to the snapdragon 855 7nm. I want the 6T, but the good thing with OnePlus is their next phone is always 6 months away.

I'm itching for a good Android, but I think the 855 is something that is a must have and I wouldn't be shocked if OnePlus is 5G ready next spring for the 7. The 6t is awesome, but it would be a 6 month rental for me.

For the year OP6T should be one of the front runners to the cell phone world, for those who want more features, pay through your nose get other flagships.

Not trying to start anything here, just having a friendly conversation  but due to high prices and lack of quality (read: price to premium ratio), how many pixel 3 defectors are going to RMA and opt for the OnePlus this year?

Sounds like a lot of unhappy pixel fans right now and my guess some might end up here.

I’ve owned every Nexus and Pixel, until the 3 / 3 XL. Also have never owned a OnePlus, until the 6T is released. Can’t wait until the 30th!

Good that they pushed the event back.
I don’t think  will have even known or cared OnePlus were holding an event that day too.

Why should they.

I know which event I’d be tuning into if both were scheduled at the same time.
Hint: not OnePlus.

I really liked the OP5T but Oneplus was a little too slow for my liking with this release. I was hoping they would have had their conference and launched it on the 17th but I am not waiting 10 days for their show and release after that. I mean why even have a show, everyone knows everything about the OP6t except the exact prices at this point.

They didn't. They moved it up one day.
