Yes. Because not many people move to Android because of the OS. It’s usually for the price and sometimes for the hardware, or both. But rarely because Android is a better OS provided you always stay on flagship devices and upgrade yearly.
Only in the USA.

Only in the USA.

Anywhere where money isn’t a major issue. Currently that’s only USA. Had the other countries been rich enough, it would have been the same. The reason people go with Android if because buying an iOS flagship every 12 months is expensive. But if you can do that, even battery life (the weakest point of older iPhones) beats that of most Android phones in 3-4 months tops.

Stop taking this thread off topic by spouting rubbish about why people buy Android phones. You clearly have no interest in this or any other Android phone, so stick to the Apple threads.

Or for lots of people like me we prefer Android, not sure why you seem to be so worried about it or care either way

Anytime a new phone phone comes out there's a lot of: I heard, seems like, the majority are saying, sounds like...etc...

My point is that it doesn't do any good to come into threads and just repeat what you've heard online from a source or two. You should use the phone yourself and report back so we can get actual input rather than rehashed 3rd party info which may or may not be true for the majority of people using the phone. Some people doing these "reviews" etc on Youtube or wherever have an agenda.

Why to keep responding to that 12-year old? Did you see his signature?

Dude is trolling and you guys took the bait.

Lets get back to the topic at hand, this phone is downright amazing. I honestly think it is such a fresh of breath air coming from my XS Max. I have not missed one thing at all in making the switch for a couple days and the notifications are MILES ahead of anything on iOS in terms of customization and presentation, I love it.

The OS is so smooth its hard to explain unless you see it in your hand combined with the 90HZ. It really is something.

I ordered a OP case and it will round this out nicely. The clear TPU that was FREE in the box as well as the FREE, ridiculously fast charger (take notes Apple) are a great addition.

I’m not trolling. :)

I don’t want customisation. I want the simplicity and stripped off UI Apple brings.

I know Android flagships are often faster and smoother with/without 90 Hz. But all my Apple devices are fast enough for me.

I like Apple Mail. I don’t like Google Mail’s app. So the choice is obvious.

The choice is obvious for you. Everyone else is not you.

You do realize you are posting in the "Alternatives to iOS and iOS Devices" section. You like iPhones, that's great. Don't try to tell other people why they shouldn't like something else.

I’m really tied into the Apple ecosystem (and am very happy with it), been buying Apple since 1987.
BUT, Gotta say this phone is hot and offers an awful lot for the money. If I were to move on, I think this would be the one to go with.
Wish I had enough spare money to get one just to experiment with!

Having only used iOS exclusively the last 5 years or so many Android devices have tempted me but this is the one that finally made me take the plunge from my XS Max and wow.

I am extremely impressed with the OS, the hardware and this screen is the best I've ever used on a device hands down.

Let me know if you have any questions from a recent convert. :)

Apple makes great products but if one can afford it and wanted a second smartphone to have this would be great. Each has its positives and negatives. Nice to have one of each like having a MacBook Pro and X1 Carbon Thinkpad :)

If you got yours already I am wondering what ceps provider you have and how cell reception strength is on it along with GPS signal/reception strength. I did see that it does use the new dual GPS system but also did read in some of the reviews that signal for GPS was not too quick to lock onto and was a bit weak indoors as well. I bought a new Huawei P30 Pro last month but still have my iPhone 8 Plus.

I went to a local T-Mobile and played around with the 7 Pro and my fear were confirmed. I DO NOT like the curved screen edges. Everything else about the phone is amazing (even though I think it's a tad too big for me personally), but I cannot get over those curved edges on the screen. It makes content on the screen just looks silly because it warps around the edges. Also, there was massive glare on those edges. For something that is one of the MAIN parts of a smartphone, I would not be able to accept that compromise. The screen is the number one thing I interact with every day for hours, and having those curved edges just ruin it for me.

OnePlus phones are very solid. They no longer have the budget price, but they are also improving in a major way.

I decided that my next phone has to be 5G. I am holding my 8+ and I picked up a Moto G7 Power for $250 to get my android fix. Knowing OnePlus, they will be one of the first to go 5G. Probably next year with the 8 or the 8T. It’s killing me to read these reviews, but it’s worth the wait for me. If this phone had 5G, it would be good for 3 or 4 years.

This is not even close to being true. The longest lasting iPhone ever (iPhone XR) isn’t even close to being long lasting when you compare it to android phones. I’m a power user and battery life snob to the fullest. iPhones are way more efficient than nearly any android for sure, but the battery is always too small and won’t last as long as a comparable android. In many ways I do prefer iOS, but most people who claim to hate android haven’t used one in 4+ years, and even then it was a throwaway phone that cost $200.

I am a big curved edge opponent but I don't watch a lot of content on my phone's and for everything else I use it for it's a non factor as i thought may be. I totally understand though as everyone use case is totally different.

In a case it really is a non issue for me and feels fantastic in the phone for such a massively excellent screen.

Easily the best screen I have used in any smartphone as it's so crisp and no compromises with bezels and notches.

I used to use Android flagships. But even now I keep an iPhone and a $200 Android phone with me. And I upgrade the Android one yearly. It quite sucks. Battery is better or same as flagship iPhone with original iOS though.

AFAIK 7Pro supports 5G. At least in India. :)

I’m an Apple guy, and iv tried the One Plus devices in the past but I just can’t get on with Android for reasons I won’t get in to, but the OnePlus 7 Pro makes me jealous.

That giant beautiful display, the 90hz refresh rate, the inbuilt finger print scanner (I prefer that to Face ID personally) and that notch-less design

I feel like Apple are lagging behind, not in terms of speed and software, but I look at my iPhone XS Max, and I can’t help but feel envy for Android users at the minute. All of those features on the OnePlus I would LOVE on my iPhone, and unfortunately judging by the leaks I won’t be getting it this year either, instead it’ll be the same phone with faster specs and a better camera (a camera being something that doesn’t excite me).

Anyway, for now I’m stuck because of the eco system, iCloud and what I’m use to. Maybe one day.

You can escape if you wanted, there are services on the other side which offer the functionality you are used to.

I see iPhone as a great user device but the alternatives are excellent sysadmin devices.
