Anyone got pics of the actual phone? I'm so tempted to go all in, I haven't had a OnePlus since the 3T.

Now you need to get that carbon fiber case that they sell.:)

I got mine yesterday. Its minimal but also covers the entire phone and is a great product.

It can be a tad slippery but I love the look and the minimal heft it adds. I normally am a naked phone fella with AC+ on my phones but not familiar with OP protection plans/repair process so I didnt want to take a chance this time.

I am not seeing that problem at all. Texts, tweets, and Slack notifications come through instantly for me everytime.

That would be a problem for me too but I haven't seen it once.

It only happens when you're on wifi and the phone is idle on a desk or such... Then doze mode is enabled (standard android feature) and it kills your notifications until you pick the device up

I'm really tempted by this, you get a lot for money. All the reviews and comparisons make the camera look really good. But then I hear how lots are having issues with grain, softness etc. Is this all overblown and already fixed with an update?

That’s such a ridiculous feature, and it’s one reason why I returned the Pixel 3 XL and went back to my iPhone. I missed some vital need-to-know-now notifications because of this. Why don’t they give the user the option to disable this feature instead of forcing users to root the phone to disable it? Why even have it as a feature? I’d rather have worse battery performance than have this notification issue.

But you can turn off Doze for the apps you don't want to use it for...

How do I turn off doze mode?
Tap the Options menu button (the three dots in the upper right), then tap Battery optimization. Tap the downward-pointing arrow, then tap All apps from the menu that appears. Next, tap the name of the app for which you want to switch off Doze mode, and in the box that appears, tap Don't optimize.

I do it through adb from my pc every time I reboot (once a week) just because I don't wanna root

Except that doesn't disable doze.

it can disable it for the apps you don't want to put to deep sleep so you can get notifications. That is what the conversation i replied to was complaining about.

Yeah, except it doesn't work... That is what OnePlus does, but the problem is a deep android issue.

I am not trying to argue but I haven't seen this once and my phone is on my desk a lot at work.

Maybe I pick it up too much where doze never fully occurs??

Either way, nowhere near an issue to not consider this device imo

Man....I checked out the 7 pro the other day at T-Mobile. I was surprised at the smoothness of the device....had me like....

I was definitely impressed. I would definitely switch from the XS max to the 7 pro. I’m still debating on that switch though.

Send me a message if you do that, I'm thinking the same thing and I'm an Apple Fanboy.

You are locking yourself in. I have been on iOS forever and made the switch to the OP7 Pro because it is the only device that checked almost all the boxes I wanted (wireless charging being the only one missing) and I am blown away at the performance, this screen is the best i have ever used, and the battery life is astounding with such amazing screen performance and the 90hz.

It will change how you view your phones when using it consistently. I picked up my wife's X after using the OP7P for a few days and you can easily tell the smooth differences in scrolling and buttery reactions on the screen. You have to play with it in person.

HIGHLY recommended at the price point for what you get in a device.

Theres more to it though. I mean theres a bunch of apps I use that I can't get on Android, such as Fantastical and Bear. iMessage is more important to me than you might think and there are many apps that just feel more polished on iPhone. Dark Sky for example you pay monthly for on Android, whereas its a one off payment for iPhone and these are just a couple of examples of why I prefer iOS.

I don't want to Switch to Android, I just want the features of the OnePlus 7 on my iPhone. Features like the ones I mentioned such as built in fingerprint reader, notchless design and the 90hz display - these are the features I am jealous over.

Had OP phones before but wasn’t sure about giving up my iPhone XR and its wonderful battery. The OnePlus 7 Pro is the iPhone killer for me. I still have my iPad for the Apple ecosystem but I am 99.99% sure I’m selling my iPhone XR and keeping the OP7Pro.

Everything just works. I love how OP keeps rolling out with a vibrate switch to compete with Apple. This screen is beautiful!!! Face unlock while less secure is even faster than iOS with the pop up camera. Android auto is better on my car too. Everything about the OP7Pro is well made and could easily be mistaken for an apple device if not for the OS and the rear logo. So long iPhone... I may or may not be back in 6 months like I usually am after trying a different smartphone. LOL

OnePlus keep beefing up the specs of the cameras in their phones, but seemingly pay almost no attention to the camera software that does the image processing. They didn't even mention camera software once in their keynote.
It's pretty poor that the stock imaging software is a million miles behind that gcam can do when side-loaded on the same hardware. It's been like this for years with them.
I guess this is fairly typical of Android OEMs though. They are all about selling hardware and the software is almost just an after-thought because largely they are not responsible for the core of it.

I’m tempted to get this, but I will hold off until iOS 13 beta is released in a couple of weeks. I want to see what features it will bring to the X series.

It's on my list - that or the nylon one.

I'm using the supplied case for now. I actually don't mind it. It adds a decent amount of grip and shows the blue paint job off.

I was torn between the nylon or the carbon. Did a lot of reading on the OP subreddit and the carbon was recommended 10 times more then any other due to durability/feel. I ended up going with that one and glad I did. It looks fantastic and love the feel in the hand.

It will hide that beautiful blue though. :)

Mine started exhibiting the ghost touch problem today. I'm really disappointed. OnePlus haven't made a statement about it yet. I've got a while to return it so I'm back on my iPhone XS Max for now and I'll reluctantly return the OnePlus if there's no fix by the time my return period runs out.

I have read it's a known issue with NFC. Try turning off NFC and rebooting the phone to see if that fixes it (well if you don't use NFC) lol

Yeah, I knew about the NFC thing and switching it off does seem to stop the problem. Thing is, I use NFC for Google Pay and I don't want to have to remember to switch it off and then on again when I need to pay for something.

I am still within my 14 day return period for TMobile so curious if I should go or not.

Haven't experienced it all but don't want it to be an issue in the future.
