Here's someone's sad story PM to me in asking for an invite

Hey there, are you still considering the OPO? I see that you're an early supporter and really likely to be slated for an invite, if you already haven't received one!

I live in France and I am actually in Sweden, I will go back to France in 2 weeks, and if I get an invite later than this week, I won't be able to choose between Sweden and France, the delivery is sooo random... I would like to get an invite

My current phone, a Galaxy s2 is cracked all over the back where the camera lens is, so I'm stuck taking selfies with the front camera only lol. I rom it with Cyanogenmod but I somehow brick it... Maybe because I had no battery left during the update... That's typically me... :(

If you have any extra invitations and you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd be really excited to get one :) My email is ............

Have you not had the my son had his legs blown off in Afghanistan and I want to give him the phone to help start his recuperation ... Yet ?

They are getting horrendous

Wow, that is just bad. Just shows you how messed up some people are and how stupid this invite system is.

I forgot that I registered for an invite but alas it came this morning. I have the M8 that I converted to a GPE but I figure for $350, I'd give the OPO a shot and sell whichever device I don't want anymore. I'll see how long it takes to get to me and then update you guys on my impressions.

I have both phones. I have had the OPO for a week and have not picked up the M8 for that long,

I went to an AT&t store thinking I was going to pickup a G3. After playing around with it a while I decided to pass on it for now. But the store employees saw me comparing the screen sizes with the G3 and OPO and went nuts over the OPO. One of the reps said he would trade me straight up for a new G3 for my OPO. I told him I would pass for now. They were impressed with the OPO build quality and design. 3 of the reps are waiting for invites. Man gotta hate that invite system.......

How long did it take for you guys to get a confirmation & shipped after you purchased the phone?

I ordered mine on July 1st and it was delivered on the 7th. I used the "express" shipping option if it make a difference. express uses UPS and "standard" uses USPS here in the States.

After-sale product support is one area that concerns me whenever I buy a non-Apple cell phone.

I remember with my old LG, HTC and Motorola phones it was a nightmare whenever I had an issue. Each time I had to go through so many hoops to get a clearly hardware-defective phone fixed or replaced and usually entailed a lengthy period without a phone.

In contrast, with my iPhone 4 and 5 every single hardware issue was diagnosed on the spot (either in-store or on the phone with AppleCare) and got a replacement almost immediately. Walk in with an issue, walk out with a new phone. It's really hard to beat.

Damn the yellow band issue has me worried. I had to return my iPad mini retina because of it. I hope it won't be as noticeable since it's on a smaller screen.

I'm not that worried as I'll probably use on screen nav buttons. Some screens are extremely poor (earlier production runs) and some have lighter yellow banding near the bottom (where the on screen nav buttons would be). I guess we'll have to see when our phones come in the mail!

I just got an invite and also decided to cop it, mainly because as someone already said, if I don't like it, its an easy sell for all my money back. I am hoping it is good though!

That (partially) explains why the phone is so cheap. Customer support sucks.

If something is wrong with my Nexus 5, I get a replacement unit within a week and never have to pay a dime. And I've already had to do this multiple times.

That (partially) explains why the phone is so cheap. Customer support sucks.

If something is wrong with my Nexus 5, I get a replacement unit within a week and never have to pay a dime. And I've already had to do this multiple times.

You basically have to give them your account to log in. Or they give you their payment information.

Instead of giving your login or getting their payment info, try sending them the link that you got. Hopefully, you didn't click on that link and claimed it by accident.

Nope :( there are a number of folks in same position with low numbers and no official invite. Seems like random luck still at play.
