There are no on screen buttons (they are capacitive, and worst, a menu button like old Samsung phones!!:mad: no direct multitasking button).

That just made this phone a 100 times more attractive to me :) I hate on screen buttons and thought I'd be forced to stick to an old Note 3 forever to still have the menu button which I much prefer to the multitasking button.

Not that in love with the shape of the phone though. And hipster back plates don't do much for me...I won't leave home without a case on.

Btw how do you know it has a menu button? I don't see the buttons in the pictures, nor are they mentioned in the text?

One plus has been doing some damage control. Crisis averted. New UI leaks are now up and it is indeed CyanogenMod In whatever flavor you like (with or without on screen buttons).

This does make the device much more appealing.

It's getting ridiculous over on their forums with people constantly soliciting invites when there are none so far..

Would it have killed them to just set up stock allocation to each of their launch territories and simply allow pre-ordering (1 per customer) and then when allocation is reached - pull the orderinging until further stock became available.

As it is, there will be a black market and people preying on others naivety promising invites for money.

The whole thing stinks of going tits up !!!

Honestly it just looks like the oppo find 7. Nothing spectacular at all.

Same initial reaction and, having tried out the 7a in a store, it was a bit cumbersome to use. Probably not surprising since these are former Oppo people.

A little underwhelmed after the hype they gave it.

I see that now, disappointing.

Also, does one of those pictures show a Lightning adapter for the USB plug?

Well, good news. It seems it has also on screen buttons! Maybe they can be enabled in the settings, just like on CM, but it would be kind of weird having also the capacitive buttons there, even if they can be disabled.

Sorry if I'm being blind but where the heck are you seeing that? I don't see it on any of the pictures.

There's one picture of the phone where if you zoom enough on the bottom bezel you will see the capacitive buttons. There's home, back and menu.

Zoom in the picture and you'll see them.

The new screenshots look better thank god. I hated the MIUI look.

Yeah. It feels like one of those launches where they stir up too much hype for their own good and only end up disappointing everyone.

It really does look like an Oppo 7 that just has a new name. Woo hoo

Yeah, its pretty sad at the forums over there. I signed up to check it out, and I noticed one thread where people were discussing how they could not sleep for fear of not being invited.

I would have preferred preorders as well, at least then it would be more transparent as to when we could expect to get the phone. Some people are going to be disappointed with either system of distribution.

Where does it say they want you to smash your old phone??:rolleyes:

I guess you haven't been paying attention much. They posted in their forum and on Facebook you'd need some tools to win an invite to buy one of the first phones, and then posted this video asking what tools we have. I think thats pretty clear, and everyone at their forum seems to agree if you take a look over there.

Pricing is live

$353 for the 16gb model
$417 for the 64gb model

I don't know if this is the US/UK pricing plan seeing how it's based in RMB which I believe is rupees?

Pricing looks good. I think it will be $349 USD for 16 GB and $399 for 64GB USD stateside most likely.
