nfl46, do you mind pointing me to the kernel you're using? I tried searching on XDA for 'Franco kernel' but had no luck. Maybe I missed it..? Anyway, I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me out. Thank you.

EDIT: Never mind, I believe I found it http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/orig-development/kernel-franco-kernel-r1-t2800871

EDIT#2: nfl, how can I edit RGB values in Franco?

EDIT#3: Never mind, once again; I found TricksterMod app and lets me mess with the RGB settings.
I am using AK stable kernel (There are a few to try out). And trickster to change the color settings. Let us know how it went.

Try 235, 245, 255. I primarily use that and 0, 0.3, 0.2, -20 in settings (custom screen color). I always change it though. But, that's what I have now.

The current settings I have looks good but I still see the yellow at the bottom of the screen.. I love the phone but can't get over the yellow. And I'm not sure what to believe; unsettled glue and with time it'll go away or just a defect. Nonetheless, I'm still within my 14 days to return.

Dang, sorry to hear that. If it's bothering you that badly, I would just sell it for a profit and get a different device. Chances are, the new OPO you receive, will have some yellow at the bottom.

Regarding bottom, according to their forum it could be either A) need to wait for Glue to settle or B) a backlight issue. The oneplus one is backlit from the bottom.

The first of your images HiDef looks bad indeed, the other two not so much, but it's hard to capture things like this on camera.

You've had the device a few days now, it should be starting to fade naturally if it's the glue. If you don't think it has changed at all of its own accord since you got your phone, then it could be the other issue.

keep us posted bud,

If anyone here wants an invite, let me know because I have one to give...

If you still have it, can you please send it to me?

Wife's iPhone 4S cracked after falling on hard floor. If anyone else has an invite, PM me :)

Thanks in advance.

It looks like a backlight issue to me.

keep us posted bud,
It does seem like the backlit issue. If it was the glue it would have faded by now.
Sorry HiDef....lets us know what happens......

If it's a backlight issue you could try to RMA the device.

Try to make them give you a new device or fix that. If you get another one with the yellow band then that might go away within weeks.

A backlight issue won't go away I think.

Thank you all for your input! I still don't know what I'm going to do, tbh. I guess I'll give it a few days and if not, flash it back to stock and RMA.

If I do RMA the device, what should I do so it goes smoothly? Should I mention that it is a back-light issue or yellowing?

Has anyone had any experience with returns/exchanges?

I would mention it's backlight bleeding, because they're saying the yellow band is "normal", so don't mention that or they would argue it's normal.

After researching, it seems like its not worth returning/exchanging the device.

According to phandroid: " The customer would have to pay for the shipping charges on their*own*dime. What’s more is OnePlus is giving very few options in terms of courier, with charges back to China reaching upwards of $56. That’s a pretty expensive hardware defect."

TBH....i would not take their word for it. I would at least have OPO tell me that themselves. Who knows what kind of bad info Phandroid might have gotten. It could turn out to be true. But I would find out from OPO......

I've read that people do have do have to pay the shipping costs, but I don't think it's as much as 56$:eek:

That would be insane.

Shipping the phone back to China seems a bit extreme... The phones are shipped from the US when you buy it so it seems logical to ship back to a place in the US rather than back all the way to China.

I agree with you. But they have made it clear their base of operations is in China. The phones that ship from the US have been pre shipped to warehouses in the US for faster ship times. They are just staging warehouses.

Contemplating on dipping my toes in. Monitoring contests and their twitter on how to get an invite (cross my fingers I don't get an invite when this phone becomes outdated). While I wait though has anyone switched primarily from an iPhone to the OnePlus One? Did the size bother you at all?

I've dabbled in android with the nexus line but the poor camera really held me back.

How is the DAC?

edit:
I know that its only specs but has anyone been able to compare the G3's screen vs the 1080 OnePlus One screen? Any differences?

Okay, I need to stop visiting the site. Getting excited at the idea of buying one.

Pretty disappointed with my One.

First, it won't connect to a Wifi network. My other smartphone and tablet will connect fine. The Oneplus won't no matter what.

Ghosting/smearing issues. Noticeable when changing landscape/portrait mode and swiping through screens.

Uneven backlight issue. Bottom of the screen I can see what looks like "lights' illuminating the screen.

Horrible vibration. Phone vibrates with a cheap rattle. The motor sounds like it's dying.

I'm out of the 14 day return window (OnePlus shipped the phone to me just as I was going out of the country for 17 days. Great timing.)

If they want me to pay the ridiculous shipping to have this phone fixed/replaced, I'm going to raise hell.

Paypal dispute?

nfl46, what ROM are you running with AK Kernel? I was going to flash it but it doesn't support CM11s which is the stock rom, I believe.

Does anyone know how many different models of the OnePlus there are?

I could buy one from eBay US, but don't know if the radio bands (3G and 4G) would work in Europe.

I've read that there are 2 models: the chinese one and the international one.

Is the international one the same for all the world except China? If so, then it doesn't matter if I buy it from someone in the US right?
