Does anyone know how many different models of the OnePlus there are?

I could buy one from eBay US, but don't know if the radio bands (3G and 4G) would work in Europe.

I've read that there are 2 models: the chinese one and the international one.

Is the international one the same for all the world except China? If so, then it doesn't matter if I buy it from someone in the US right?

US is the same model as the European one. There is only two models. Asia/China one and International model. The China one actually supports 4G in europe too, just not USA.

Thanks MRU!

I read about the 4G in the chinese model working in Europe too, but I think that model comes with Color OS, right? I know CM can be flashed to it, but I think getting an international model is a safer bet.

Will look if I see a good deal on eBay US. I'm still waiting on the Moto X+1, but this might be my backup plan.

So after rooting the device and messing with RGB values along with display settings, its help masked the yellow at the bottom of the screen. Don't get me wrong, its still there but not as bad. Still don't know if I'm going to keep it or return it but right now I'm content.

BTW, I installed Muhdi ROM and it's running smooth. I picked a dark theme and its help contribute to masking the yellow.

Hey guys, I noticed something strange on my Oneplus, which I've had about 3 weeks now. Even though I'm in the US my backplate doesn't have the Cyanogen Mod branding, which is the case only on the Chinese model. However Cyanogen Mod came installed on my device and I have been able to get 4G on T-Mobile, do you think they just put the wrong backplate on my international version?

Must be ...

1+1 support finally responded to my ticket, and sent me a brand new invite. Was able to successfully place an order 2 weeks after my failed order attempt first time around.

Will report back once I receive it and hope for no issues this time. Wife has already agreed to take over my GS5 :)

Awesome. Thanks for the update. I'm glad that my solution is helping some!

glad you got the invite issue worked out, I had mine for two weeks now really liking it. So far only annoying issue is the camera locks up once in a while. Battery life is good, but I don't think it's amazing like the Note 3 where it could last two days. It might last a day and a half.

Easily my favorite smartphone of 2014 (and that I've owned thus far).

Excellent battery life, gorgeous screen, solid cameras, great feel in the hand, runs near stock Android, super snappy performance, and you get it all with 64GB of storage for just $350 unlocked. That's insane.

man i wish i could pick one up. been dieing for a new phone, and holding out till September, October.

I've been using mine for a week and I love it. The level of customization without rooting is also awesome.

MRU, did you end up selling your 1+1? I am thinking about selling mine, I've got 5 phones right now and we got a lot of heavy hitters coming next month. I was just wondering if you kept yours or not.

Received mine earlier and just started playing with it. So far the size is not as large as I'd imagine it to be (coming from a GS5), and was surprised at how comfortable it fit in my hand.

Will provide further impressions after this weekends use. Have to head out to a family BBQ and am quite happy the phone is already 80% charged out of the box.

Why did you have to sell at a loss? It seems most people are getting $400 or so for the 64gb version, is that not true?

Not as popular here.

It cost me €370 including shipping from OPO here as we have to buy inflated UK prices and then ship to Ireland. ($495)

I sold for €330 so a 10% drop on price I paid. Could have been worse. ($440)

OPO is handing out the early support invites it seems like. Haven't gotten my purchase invites to share.

I'm trying to find a second hand OnePlus without the yellow band and it's almost impossible.

Just saw one that's terrible.

Then I found this picture comparing the screen to the G2.

Saw something about the yellow screen in this interview on GSMarena - sounds like they're denying there's a problem!

There seem to be many issues at play here. Adhesive that hasn’t dried is one, but it’s also affected by software calibration, screen type, and inherent product design issues. Software calibration is an issue that will be resolved in an OTA coming in a few days, so that will help some people.

If we’re talking about the design issues, it’s about how LCD backlights are positioned and placed. Looking closely at different LCD smartphone displays, it’s possible to reproduce this on many smartphone displays on the market. Other than software calibration for different screen tones, there are minimal differences between our displays. These are not quality issues, and are not covered by warranty.

In other words, nothing to see here. Move along.

That said, the GSMarena review of the OPO highlights the screen being lower quality than the competition - to be expected when corners are cut in favour of lower prices. I hope people now understand more that devices at near-to-cost-price will have concessions in reality regardless of what any spec sheet or company rep says.

LG has done a great job with the G3. The OPO does have some issues with yellowing. The OPO I had didn't have that problem and I think most do not have that problem. To be fair though the OPO will never overheat and throttle your phone to keep it from overheating like a lot of folks have complained about. I had the G3 for 3 days and it stuttered and overheated and it went back. The OPO i had was a beast!
