just use stock Android like Nexus devices.

most people who buy OnePlus are buying it because of the price, not because of Cyanogen.

Invitation is a marketing strategy for them.

Right now, supply of invites are in the THOUSANDS.
Those that want an invite are RARE.

So many unclaimed invites. I bet it is selling for $0.25 on ebay right now and still won't get sold.

Yes, that's exactly my point. If everyone who wants invites can get them, what's the point of even having them? That system only makes sense when the product is new and has that exclusive, hard-to-get sheen to it (although even then it's of course incredibly contrived). When the phone is nearly a year old it starts to be a little pathetic.

Sure the invitations are a marketing strategy for them, but one that probably has done them more harm than good. Which is why they should probably stop using them as soon as they can.

Yet you were the one that was most singing praises of them only a few months ago. Every post you made read like a glorified sales brochure and we got some of the the make believe sales graphs too. You repeatedly told us they ramping up production and were on course to sell millions and millions.

Even when folks pointed out the flaws - you were steadfast. You told us you invested in shares. You were deeply entrenched in the whole One Plus Sales hyperbole machine, and unreservedly apologetic to every stumble they blundered their way through....

And now..

How the wind does change.

LG G3, SGS5, Moto X2, Moto G2, etc. All of them already have been updated to Lollipop.

So much excitement for the OnePlus but with time they're not even among the first ones to update their phone. I feel like they will end up like Oppo, Huawei and such, releasing affordable good phones but updated very late and then forgotten after just one big update.

LOL. If you believed me, I also said I own 0.1% of Xiaomi which is now worth $45 billion USB. That would make me $450 million richer.

I'm still singing their praises. They are doing very well.

Smartphone companies like Xiaomi, OnePlus that sell high end devices at extremely low profit margin will result in lower prices of smartphone for everyone.

Supply of Invites > Demand of Invites mean that it's very easy to buy the phone now.

I am so tempted to get this phone. Reading reviews are a mix bag but mostly praising the device. The signal strength and ghost screen touches are hard to ignore.

OnePlus One

i bought it because i have wanted to get a new phone for a long time and needed one too, (my old phone was Note 10.1 =P so i want to have a pocket size phone again) and had a chance to buy it. it was cheap and it was a reason i bought it in the first place. although it is cheap it is still a great phone. would i buy it again? yes, definitely.

Wow, you used the note 10.1?

yes for two years... of course with a bt headset :D and a smartwatch =p no problem at all.. all messages etc i read from the watch, made calls/sms etc... the phone was in my bag all the time.

now it is working only as a tablet, and im using opo as a phone. somehow i miss it that i had all in one (a phone, tablet and a pen) in the same package...

You could wait for the note 5? That could be more pocketable.

it is still a phone size... im using my Note a lot with a pen and need a real tablet size thing
Well you can download an app on both your OnePlusOne and the note called mightytext. You get your phones texts and calls on the note and you can send messages as well as call.

OnePlus One

sure, but i dont see the point... the point for me was having all in one, not carrying two devices, a phone and a tablet, with you all the time. whatever app you use, you still need to carry your phone with you... that was the readon i had (still have) Note 10.1 phone model, and considered to get the 12.2 phone model... but then, i got OPO, so i just need to live with two decices, lol...

I honestly think the OPO went from such a highly anticipated phone to something that no one cares about. The company has been a complete letdown. The bamboo covers, quality issues, supply problems, the stupid invite system, etc.

To top it off... if you're an AT&T user, there is zero reason to buy a OPO because it doesn't support all the required bands. It only has B17 and B4 (AWS.) AT&T is using B2 LTE everywhere these days and also has B5 up in many areas. You will have such a terrible experience if you only had a phone that supported B17 on AT&T.

Att still use band 4/17 or LTE. Where is att use band 2? and which phone supports it?
