I would choose the OP3 over the N6P. Maybe its the size? I find the N6P to be too big for me (size wise, it's on par with the 6S Plus). But, I am not a fan of stock Android, though. I prefer Touchwiz over stock, but that's a whole other story.
I find stock android to be pretty bland and featureless. I like what OPO and CM does with stock to add just the right amount of features but not too many. I would choose the OPO3 over the 6P all day long.....

Really would like to know if this update fixes the notification issue for sure. People in the OP3 forums at OnePlus are saying conflicting things. I can't have a phone that doesn't alert me when I have a new message unless I pick up my phone.

OP3 has a really good camera. Not Samsung/iPhone/LG/HTC quality, but not that far off either. I was pleasantly surprised by OP3 camera capability.

Battery was also a nice surprise, since I wasn't expecting much, but on just LTE I've managed to get 4:30. And the phone is ridiculously fast, probably fastest Android I have ever used.

As far as upgrades go, I wouldn't believe OP team much, since they tend to lie a lot! And faster the update comes, more bugs will show up. I'm speaking from fast experience here.

But on the other hand, I bet this phone is on par with Nexus when it comes to custom rom support, especially since OP is releasing almost everything open source, so I wouldn't worry that much about upgrades. OP3 is built for custom roms, so if you plan to get it, use that option. Better then sticking with stock ;)

Not for me if it has to rely on custom roms then it's a fail in my book.

I agree 110%. You shouldn't have to modify something to make it work. That should only be for changing things for fun or to tweak to your liking. Not to get the phone to function properly.

Some it seems are too keen to give OP an easy out on this.

OOS on OP3 works like a charm, so no problem there. All I was saying is that this phone can do miracles with custom software, and like Nexus phones, it's a great phone for that stuff.

Of course, you don't have to do it if you don't want to. And it works like a charm out of the box. Way better then any samsung or lg for that matter :)

Fixed the notification problem for me.

I'm actually returning my OP3 this week and going back to the 6P.

Honestly, the OP3 is a very good phone, especially for the price. OnePlus nailed the hardware, and software-wise, the phone absolutely flies. As another poster mentioned, the camera is good, not great.

I did run into a couple of (maybe minor) bugs that give me just enough concern that I'm sending it back. Those are 1) the microphone on phone calls sometimes doesn't seem to work and 2) the notifications not coming through when the display is off.

To be optimistic though, OnePlus has issued a couple of updates and seems to be addressing bugs in a pretty timely manner, but I'm kind of anxious to get back to testing out Android N, and have no idea when that will hit the OP3.

Well it's a discussion forum in case it has escaped your notice & people express their opinions. And do I care that you don't care, no.

And in typical OnePlus fashion. You wait for them to release a gold version and then they go and suspend sales to your country ...

@MRU
They didn't suspend anything yet. And some claim that there will be no suspend period at all to any country. I know my country was on the suspend list, but just checked it out, I can still order without any problem.

I'm still curios about the iPhone 7... but I'm pretty sure I'll get the OPO3 instead. Unfortunately the delivery time is 7 weeks (in germany).

Awesome looking phone. Shame it has to run such a poor operating system in android.

I hope Microsoft and oneplus release a windows 10 mobile rom. I'd gladly get it just to get rid of the lagdroid and flash it with the rom. My friend has it and likes the phone.

Windows 10 mobile is an absolute bug ridden mess and Microsoft seemingly have no desire to fix it.

Says someone who likely doesn't own a lumia 950 or xl version and likely hasn't utilized the latest updates.

I own a Lumia 930 and a 1520. Windows 10 has essentially broken them. Keyboard freezes, unresponsive GUI elements and stock app crashes galore. I also had an 950XL for a week trailing it, before deciding on returning it.

So as I said you haven't used a lumia 950 recently nor the latest red stone builds. Got it. Come back to me when you do.

Spoiler alert: my daily driver is a 950 xl with my 6s plus as my secondary phone and it runs the OS NEAR FLAWLESSLY. my 1520 in white and my orange 930 run the OS well as do my 640 xl and my Alcatel fierce xl.

Like I said I hope they release a window 10 mobile rom. That's the only way I would ever buy an android device ever again is if I could easily remove the crap off the phone and replace with my preferred OS.
