Wrong! they target the uneducated iPhone user which is a good 99% of the users. anyone who has used android all ready knows is a nicer OS.

Why on earth click on the thread then! You are allowed to make choices for your self. You don't have to follow the crowd

Look where we are....THIS IS MACRUMOURS...NOT FREAKING SAMSUNG RUMOURS.

One thread about them is enough...not every damn time a stupid new video is out.

Since when? I got 2 android updates in one year. That was 1 more than iPhone!
i think the point they were making is that a lot of manufacturers using Android do not push out Android updates when Google releases them. Samsung may be better than HTC and the rest at getting the updates out quicker, I don't know. But a good majority of Android users don't get updates for months up to a year, if ever! That is a fact. All iPhone users can get iOS updates immediately if they want it. The iPhone user has the choice. Same can't be said for all Android users. Wink wink

But you say you got two updates this year? Honeycomb didn't get released to phones and ICS hasn't been released to the masses yet. If you are talking minor updates to Gingerbread, then Apple has released more than one this past year, prior to iOS 5 that is. There have been two updates already to iOS 5.

Lack of updates? Bro Android had had three major OS upgrades the past 15 months while you got just one. Now you have to wait another year for the iP5 phone and another OS update

Don't try to distort reality to suit your arguments. You both suck at it.

If you want to play that card; iOS ALWAYS gets at least two updates (usually more) in every calendar year ever since its inception in 2007 and at least one of the updates is a significant (adds features) one.

Also you don't have to wait months to get the updates either...and thats if you're even eligible. iPhone 3GS was released in 2009 and got iOS 5 the exact day it was released to the masses. Nexus One came in 2010, has double the CPU/RAM of the 3GS...won't be getting ICS.

Even the Galaxy S, Droid X etc (amongst many others) are unconfirmed for ICS as far as i'm aware.

These commercials really remind me of the "hi, I'm a Mac, and I'm a pc" commercials. Some truth, but mostly blown out of proportion. Oh, apple is getting a taste of its own medicine, and it's bitter! :)

With Android, or Samsung....It's just that they are at least two years behind Apple in the curve.

I have friends who have Samsung stuff, they bring them over and I play (whilst they use my stuff) The end result is alway's the same....."I just can't afford your stuff, iMac, MBA MBP iPad etc.

The Samsung stuff is okay, I wouldn't buy it, but Android will become a contender in a couple of years.

I'm Apple through and through. BUT when Android does catch up we may see better quality products.

The Kindle Fire is a good example, It's not bad, and I'm pretty sure most kid's would be delighted with one as a Christmas present.

Swings and roundabouts. One thing remains a stone cold fact. Hold an iPad against the "Contenders" and the quality of our stuff stands out a mile. Long may that continue.

When Android catches up? Lol, they have already passed iOS up. What are you talking about?

I was with ntelos so trust me they didn't come much slower than that to push out updates. It's one reason why I left them. Took months to get updates out. I don't mean minor updates either. I mean major updates. But I do know what you mean about the carriers being slow with getting the updates out. That's def not new to me.

all mobile company hate apple now just becuase they know apple too strong and never ever beat them ,

Never is a strong word, perhaps in the near future in terms of market share. However, with Steve gone, who know how long apple can keep up in innovation.

These ads target uneducated smartphone users. So to that, I give them a thumbs up for having enough sense to take advantage of people who think its all bout glitz and glam.

I really don't expect apple to retaliate in the manner that many of us may want them to. I expect apple to keep pushing what the device does and how it gets the job done.

It is a good target. Killing the Apple's "There is an App for that" campaign that made people think only the iPhone has all the Apps. Truth is almost all major apps are on both platforms and come out on both. For both the "there is an app for that" holds true.

They are trying and doing some damage to Apple's image that they are the only phone that can get tons of Apps.

LOL they have caught up but they certainly have not passed it.

Certainly have. The only thing iOS can do better is Siri. ICS is ahead of iOS in every other way. Apple is playing catchup and thats after a two year headstart and will never catchup because they only have a new OS once a year.

And im not bragging or trying to say iOS isny anygood. I like Apples stuff, its just the way it is. Apple puts out a new product once a year and the other guys caught it, and passed it. I mean c-mon, it took two years to get copy and psaste and MMS while Android always had it. They also always had notificatins while it took iOS 5 years.

How on earth can you say they havent passed them by? They really passed them last year and Apple caught up with IP4S...but for a little while only til ICS and the Galaxy Nexus comes out.

Not so much an imagine, more like a selling point (but an old one, in my opinion). I think apple currently is selling more on the integration, Siri and iCloud.

So? Apple didnt include all their phones either when they went to 4.0. Probably wont include them all with the next major update. Nexus 1 was released Jan 5th, 2010. Its almost two years old. Same as my 2G when it didnt get the update to 4.0.

I dont know if the Galaxy S will get ICS and dont care. Im going to be getting the Galaxy Nexus or the GS3 when it comes out in Feb. My Vibrant is 18 months old so as i said, dont care if i get it.

Look im not an Apple hater. Just look at my Sig. If th iPhone comes to T-Mobile(dont think the buyout will go thru) and they make the screen at least 4",...i may consider one again....... IF they make it so you can customizable because as much as some wont admit it....that is a great thing and one i wont pass on being able to do. Cant go back to being restricted.

True but I have heard way to many times from people that they got an iPhone. Because they have so many apps. They did not even know android had them all as well. Heck even most of the big ones are on iOS android. And WP7

Really? I don't know much about ICS. Have they finally allow you to do an entire phone backup to pc and cloud (without rooting)? May be I should go back an take a closer look at ICS.

Yes, I'm so looking forward to installing Ice Cream Sandwich on my Nexus One! ... Oh, you mean Google thinks it's "too old" to get an update?

The only iPhone Apple didn't include was the 2G, which at that point was 3 years old. Same goes for 5.0 and the 3G.

That's one thing I don't like about Android. It's a guessing game whether your phone will get the next version.

My brother has a Desire S on 2.3, and doesn't even know whether HTC will update it to Android 4.0 or not. Then there's me with an iPhone 4 (a phone older than the Desire S) and I've already gotten iOS 5 over a year later and am pretty confident that it will get iOS 6 next year.

----------

Just like Steve thought my 2G was too old to get 4.0....so you are correct ;)

Nexus One - 2010

iPhone - 2007

You got 3 years of updates with your iPhone. Some Android devices don't even get 1 year.

Apple should make a commercial pointing out the fact that Samsung has a HORRIBLE software department and SLOW at getting any kind of updates out. I left my Samsung Fascinate for that reason. They were a good 6 months behind on the Android OS for the Fascinate and when they FINALLY rolled out an update to 2.2 (Froyo) while all the other Android phones were running 2.3 (Gingerbread)....it royally F*ed the whole phone causing NUMEROUS issues and bugs. They never got it figured out and just pretty much put it on the back burner since the Galaxy S II was coming out.
