I had a 2019 MacBook Air and went with the 2020 MBA 8 Core 16GB/2TB. I wasn't planning on it but after reading about the chip I decided to go for it. The computer is so much faster then my old one. Also no more butterfly keyboard which is a huge bonus for me. Overall I'm really pleased with the machine.

Haven’t updated yet but MacMini will be my choice and will be going from a mid 2012 MacPro which has long outlived it’s usefulness. I just want the latest macOS

Coming from an early-2011 MacBook Pro 13" that has Geekbench 5 scores about on par with the iPhone 6S (if the scores cross-platform are comparable).

Earlier this year I merely wanted to them to release a new MBP that fixed the stupid butterfly keyboard. Now in December having a MBP with a single-core that's more powerful than any Intel Mac ever released is insane.

I wonder what they will come up with for the 16"?

I bought an Air, after selling two Pros. But I will also get the upcoming 16", whenever they roll it out.

Build it they will come :)

Sold my 2019 16”, 32GB, 1TB, 8GB graphic at USD 1900. Received my MBA, 16GB, 1TB few days go. No regrets! I enjoy the silence, formfactor and speed😍. Never ever thought that I could fall in love with a MBA. But it happened😄

Upgrading from Late 2012 MPB Retina 13, 2.5 Ghz. Previously upgraded the SSD once to 500GB from 256GB, and replaced the battery once. Still runs great, I use it everyday and have been around the world with it many times. Never had any issues. This is a work computer so money not much of a consideration, and I always thought I would get another Pro, but instead I went for the MacBook Air M1 16GB, 2TB, silver. Arrives next week.

I use it with a Thunderbolt Display. If Apple would ever make another consumer Thunderbolt display, they could immediately have another $1000 from me.

Who can be more embarrassing than me?

I’m coming from a 2008 iMac!

I’ve almost pushed the button on numerous occasions, but just never bothered. However, these new M1 Macs look solid.

So, what system are you coming from?
Have a Dell 15 XPS 4K touch screen 2016 model. Have been close to ordering a Mac for the past few years and these M1 model reviews convinced me.
Have on order the 13" MBP M1 16GB 1TB.
The fan noise on my Dell is killing me.

Already have IPhone, Iwatch, Apple TV and Ipad 11, so this is the final step into the Apple system.

As soon as there is an M-chip iMac available, I will upgrade from my late 2009 iMac.
I have a Late-2009 iMac. It has the Core i7-860 with 32GB RAM and SSDs. My last few iPhones have been faster than this great but aging iMac. As soon as a M1X iMac is available, I’m upgrading!

I'm curious as to what happens with those of us with the AS Developer Transition Kit Mac Mini... I assume either they say "send them back" or we have some potential collectors items (unsupported).

Maybe after the fervor dies they'll offer a swap for a base M1 Mac mini as an incentive to send the DTK back :)

I upgraded from a late 2016 15” MBP to MBA M1, 16GB Ram, 1TB SSD. Loving the Air.

My old 21.5 late 2012 iMac was sold to Cash Converters (can't be bothered with eBay) for $200

Now I am the very rapt owner of a Mac mini M1 baseline model which just rocks my boat!

And the discovery of using iMazing to import my iPad apps (some do not work) adds an extra touch of warmth for Apple!

My Canon printer will not function though ... so an extra expense next year.

But overall, do yourself a favour and buy one!! :0)
