I just got the same status for mine. Ordered July 18th though. It's been quite the wait.
The 27" iMac I ordered from Adamora on 7/26 and it is now on backorder for 3 weeks. so disappointed... if I had known, I would have ordered from B&H instead since they have stock.
iMac is finally out for delivery! Bummed I won't get a chance to even take it out of the box until later tonight but glad that it will finally make its way here after all the shipping delays. Apple got their estimate correct as it's arriving in the very last day of the original arrival estimate.
Update! Ordered July 13th. Card was officially charged (preauthorization happened way before the charge) today and delivery date has been updated to Aug 8th. I think I'm going to do an unboxing and review video (my first video on youtube to celebrate).

UPS now estimates deliver on 8/8... (4 whole days extra)
does anyone know if apple has any policy for this delay?
I thought the delivery window was a guarantee. What if I had to be out of town or something. These delays are just ridiculous. I heard someone else got compensation, but that was for weeks of delay if I remember correct

Update: i5/570 512 SSD ordered 7/12. UPS original said it was shipping today (8/3) but the date was changed to 8/4. Today I just got a message that the date is pushed back until 8/8. I hope this is worth the wait!
4.2 i7/512 SSD/Pro 580. Ordered 7/17. Due 8/9 (tail end of their original timeframe).

The new iMac has arrived and so far so good. The 5k screen is gorgeous so far.

Will insert extra 16GB RAM to get 24GB in total.

Mine is now bumped back a day and now looks like it is arriving on the 9th. It stinks that it's another day, but Wednesday will be easier for me to ensure someone is home to sign for it. I will hopefully have just enough time to set it up and play around with it before I go out of town on Friday.
Final Update: Update: i5/570 512 SSD ordered 7/12. After a screw up with UPS that rescheduled it for 8/8. The iMac arrived last night on 8/4 like they first quoted me when it shipped.
So far I'm not impressed but I'll save my views for another thread once I start using this a bit.

I hope your 2017 iMac arrived OK - I ordered a virtually identical specification (apart from being the i7 4.2 Ghz processor) in Mid July and Apple are now saying "delivery delayed due to component shortage". Does anyone know what is going on with 'built to order' mid-2017 iMacs?
