I will definitely be getting one within the new few days.

Just noticed that Apple does not have the silicone case for the 10.5". Anybody here use the Pencil with their current iPad Pro lying flat on the table? Does the protruding camera make it wobble while using the Pencil? Normally the case should be a remedy for it, but it's not there for 10.5"...

I do have the current iPad Pro and have never had an issue with the camera bump on a flat table. There's no wobble, if that's what you mean, in any context that I've ever seen or used.

Aesthetically, I hate it -- but realistically, it's a non-issue. I've learned to just ignore it, and time has made it less of a factor.

Ah thanks. Yes, I was worried that the bump due to the camera would prevent the iPad from lying completely flat on the table. Since the protruding camera would - in theory - raise one corner of the iPad higher than the other three which can make the writing process less-than-satisfying.

Yep, just bought the 10.5 at 256 gb with the sleeve cover. I wonder if the old Smart Keyboard will work on the new ones?
Probably not, I believe the size changed slightly. Also even if the size doesn't change, apple usually changes the lineup of the magnets, so the cover won't fit.

12.9 is good if you have a specific need for the larger size, like maybe notes / art / don't need portability / etc.
10.5 is probably more suitable for on the go stuff.
Seriously, even 12.9 inch is still extremely portable.

I just jumped on a 10.5" 256 space. Looks like a gorgeous machine. I'm currently rocking a 64 Air 2, which has been a fantastic machine. Can't wait to see iOS 11 on this bad boy.

This is probably a dumb question. Does the 256 GB model use more battery than the 64 GB model? I have both the 16 GB iPad mini Retina and the 128 GB ipad mini Retina, and the latter gets over an hour to two hours less battery life.
Theoretically, yes. But in reality, you will never notice the difference.
Even the slightest difference in screen brightness, or even volume, wifi/cellular signal strength may play a bigger role in battery life

So stoked! Just placed an order on B&H for a 12.9 iPad, Space Grey, 512 GB, Wi-fi only. I also ordered an Apple Pencil. I’m coming from an iPad Air 2. I can’t wait to get my hands on this beast!

I refreshed the store, and I already have an order for a 512gb LTE space Grey iPad 10.5 in. Any one else purchasing? I decided not to go with the 12.9 this time around.

Did exactly the same.

I'll confess, I went online and bought a maxed Space Grey 10.5" as soon as the store went back up. The drag and drop and files iOS 11 demos sold me hard. It is exactly how I had envisioned and hoped they would implement multitasking and file management. Am going to seriously give it a go as a replacement even on a professional level (work as an external consultant CFO for start-ups).

Made this purchase over a new 2017 rMB even though it now has a 16GB RAM option - and even though the 10.5" has a 2224x1668 resolution instead of the full 2732x2048 that I had hoped for. The rest of the screen updates were very satisfying.

Love the long overdue addition of the documents scanner to notes, system-wide drag and drop, multitasking app picker, and implementation of a properly customisable dock alá macOS.

All that's really left is giving iPad Pro proper desktop web browsing and my wish list will have been completely fulfilled by Apple, something I never thought I could say before.

Now let's get full app parity! The Affinity Photo app demo was impressive to say the least. Hopefully that puts pressure on Adobe to release proper Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator at the very least. Office and iWork full parity next, though!

Ordered the 10.5" 256 GB space grey to replace my iPad mini retina. I think its probably a bit too much memory for what I need but its better safe than sorry.
Very disappointed with the case options though, or lack of them. I purchased the leather case for my mini about 4 years ago and its still good with some heavy use.
Has anyone found any decent 3rd party cases yet?

Ordered mine as soon as the preorders started. 10.5/256/Space Gray/Wi-Fi to replace my Air 2/128/Space Gray Wi-Fi I'm using to type this on now. This'll be my 6th iPad and still excited to get it! I remember how giddy everyone was for the first gen, still remember mine as an amazing device.

I just want to know if the Touch ID home button is solid state ... nothing seems to indicate if so.

I don't suppose the 10.5" has 3D Touch?

I highly doubt both of these. The iPad doesn't have any sort of haptic engine required for the solid state home button, and if it had 3D Touch they would have said something at the keynote. Interestingly enough though, it seems both the 10.5 and 12.9 now have Touch ID 2. Basically, the speed and physical clickiness of the 6s' home button.

Yup, pulled the trigger to upgrade my 1st gen iPad Air 128GB LTE to a 10.5 space gray iPad Pro 256GB LTE

Also signed up for the IOS 11 public beta

Now having second thoughts on the LTE, probably will cancel the order and get the wifi only.

10.5" SG 256GB Wi-Fi and smart cover ordered. Deciding later if i´ll get the pen or not. Had the pen with 12.9" pro and 9,7" pro and didn´t really use it much.
Don't tell me that the pen of the old Ipad Pros does not work on the news ones...;)

Same here, also currently using an Air 2. Already ordered a 12.9, Space Grey, 512 GB, LTE. I'll get both the Pencil and Smart Keyboard. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Did they change the pencil in any way? I was hoping for a redesign when it came to charging the thing.
I just bought a refurbished iPad Pro 9.7' 128GB with cellular, and am not looking back considering the price I got compared to the just released ones.

I seriously am contemplating the exact same thing, using it as a full fledged laptop replacement for professional use.

I think one underrated feature of iOS 11 is the new app windowing feature. This is something I never thought Apple would do. I am looking forward to trying it out and seeing how it works.

Anyone going for the 512GB storage option? seems weird Apple doubled the storage, I'm glad they did tho it means i can keep more on my iPad :)
I only have 45GB left on my pro 9.7 so it's amazing how quick it can go down and I have the 256GB model

Maybe 512GB will be coming to the iPhone 8?

I use my current pro at work for taking notes. It's biggest downfall is that it can't run our ERP system, so that is a big limitation. But for meeting notes, light spreadsheet and word documents it works well. The file system with drag and drop is really going to be awesome.

Really allows you to multi-task, and is huge for drag and drop.
