I’ve ordered and even I’m getting jealous. Why, oh why, oh why didn’t I order the keyboard at the same time, idiot! I ordered everything else, how I managed to forget the keyboard I don’t know, so now it’s end of the month..... if I’m lucky :rolleyes:

In store? I’m planning on hitting Edinburgh next weekend to try them out in person so there is still a chance of me coming home with one if suitably impressed.

Good point, never thought of that. I’m blaming the lack of sleep :D
Edinburgh is my local too, so I hope they have a good few in stock.
 
Definitely try getting the keyboard in store if you have an Apple store nearby. Recent history shows (with the exception of the series 4 watches) that you have a decent chance at having inventory in stock for the first day or two after release, anyway.

Very true. Heck I remember, having decided I definitely wasn’t getting one. Walking into my local Apple Store and getting a Jet Black 7+, when they were supposed to be hard to come by.

I'm traveling around 11/07. I'm going to buy in-store for a change - miss that experience! Will be picking up the 11" variant in silver (64GB) + AppleCare + Pencil 2 + white folio.

This thread is a LOT slower than when I ordered my XS! LOL

My iPad, Pencil, and Keyboard Folio all still say Preparing To Ship with delivery date of 11/7. I’m starting to think maybe it’s not going to happen. I’d think there would be movement by now.

What does UPS say? Undoubtedly they all have tracking numbers by now.

My wife’s pencil has been in Louisville since Friday night, our 12.9 iPads are on the way to Louisville right now and our keyboard folios are in Hong Kong still, but according to Apple everything is still just preparing to ship.

Which store does everyone think would have a higher amount of stock where I’d maybe get a pencil, Best Buy or Apple? :?
I’ll wait in line to get one since I screwed up, bug I wonder which store everyone thinks it would have a higher success of me getting one, lol. I am kicking myself for canceling my order from Best Buy. :/
***I was trying to get the student discount from Apple.com so I cancelled Best Buy, but they changed to “back ordered” so I checked Best Buy again, and they now won’t ship until the 13th.
Blast!!! :( lol
*first world problems are the worst. ;) jk

It is nice buying in-store sometimes. The staff at my local (I use the word local a little loosely :D) are really nice, very helpful and for the most part pretty knowledgeable. I’ve never actually needed help, but it’s nice to know some of them do know what they’re talking about.
There’s usually a good story or two to be had from some of them.

“No upcoming deliveries” in UPS. I wonder if maybe it’s coming FedEx.

Looks like the 12.9 keyboard folios are still sitting in Hong Kong. Don’t know why UPS is letting them collect dust there...they’ve been there for a solid three days now. Hopefully they catch a ride on the next flight out.

It looks like my iPad is also headed to Louisville but the keyboard is still in Hong Kong. I hope that it still gets here on the 7th.

Pretty sure it’s all UPS right now. You signed up for a myups account? If so, is the address in your myups account the address that all your stuff is being delivered to? If it’s been at preparing for shipment for at least half a day there is almost a 100% certainty that shipping labels have been created at a very minimum. And if shipping labels are created they are in UPS system. You can also track by reference using your phone number that was entered when placing the order. Just area code and seven digits, no dashes or parentheses.

Same with both my wife and I. There’s really no reason the keyboard folios shouldn’t make it in time. They do need to catch a flight no later than Tuesday morning though. I’m really hoping that they might be on UPS63 right now about to land and just haven’t had any scans...extremely small chances of that but it’s happened before. My wife’s watch last year sat in Shanghai for the better part of a week and then the night before release day they got an arrival scan in Louisville. Not a single scan between the originating scan and arrival to Louisville.

I looked into that yesterday to see if this might affect iPad shipments and I’m not so sure that they will. It says the small package side of deliveries contract was renewed early last month and the side that this affects is larger LTL pallet sized loads (but also mentions that these loads are typically loads to retail businesses and such). So on one hand it sounds like it won’t apply to these types of deliveries and the other hand it does sound like it applies. I guess we’ll find out if the vote fails and the strike starts on the 12th. If it does, then I hope FedEx can take the ball from there...
 
Eagerly checking my Verizon Wireless order status for any sign of movement on the 1TB SG11 Pro I preordered on Thursday night with delivery by Nov 7. Also ordered a BodyGuardz screen protector and trying to settle on a case. I want to make a custom one with an anime design (yes, I’m a geek) but might at least settle for the Smart Keyboard folio to start off with until more companies begin to offer cases. Also still on the fence about the Pencil but got a new pair of Beats Over the Ear headphones for the tablet

Anyone who got their keyboard already know if you had to sign for the shipment? I have the keyboard and pencil coming from apple and reserved the iPad with Best Buy for pick up but won’t be home to sign for the accessories from Apple. Hoping that you don’t have to sign for the accessories and that it’s just for the iPad

Did you look up by reference number? (Phone number)

FWIW, everything that I’ve received from Apple in the last week came via FedEx, but it all shipped from US locations. The stuff coming from overseas—iPad, ASK, and pencil—is all coming UPS.
 
Well it looks like we might not see any movement for really anything other than the load of 12.9 iPads scheduled to land in Louisville in a little over an hour from now. I’m not digging up any newly scheduled flights outs of Hong Kong that I can think of. I’ll check every once in a while through the day but I would think that if any were going to happen they would be scheduled by now. If UPS doesn’t get them on their way by tomorrow they’ll be cutting it pretty close. C’mon UPS, don’t let us down.

Actually looking at the times it’s been taking, anything that is scheduled to be delivered on the 7th to the US has to be on its way no later than tomorrow evening. It’s taking 16-20 hours to make the trip from China to Louisville (Ontario, CA for the west coast) as it is. Then you have to figure in getting packages from Louisville/Ontario to the final destinations. Stuff needs to be on delivery trucks by Wednesday morning or they won’t get delivered on release day.

I went with BodyGuardz since they were really the only one I’m willing to give a try based on their reviews. I normally use Zagg but when I was at the mall yesterday and stopped by the Zagg kiosk, I asked if they had any screen protectors coming out for the new iPads and the lady (pretty rudely btw) said “no”. So I read up and decided to take a chance with BodyGuardz. We’ll see how well it goes
