How do you watch if you order from a carrier? I know they all come from China, so would I be able to track the freight movements same as you all who ordered direct from Apple?

It all depends on which carrier the company you bought from uses. You wouldn’t be able to track the movement from when it leaves the factory to getting to their possession. In a nutshell you’ll likely have to just wait until you get a tracking number. You could try tracking by reference but you would have to know what the company uses for said reference.

Signup for UPS Choice, you will be tracking in fewer than 10 minutes, that's what we are doing. You will be able to track the UPS truck on Apple Maps once it is scheduled for delivery.

Sorry, did realize you mentioned carrier.

I realize I'm being a bit of a jerk here, but it's kind of strange the way some of you obsess over this. When I check my order on apple.com it doesn't even show it as having shipped yet, but it does say Wed Delivery. I've been buying things from Apple since 1997 and every single thing showed up when it said it would.

Take a step back, get a drink, go out, see a movie, get some nice dinner, whatever. This is not worth worrying over.

Haha someone needs to get over themself. This is just part of the fun....so don’t worry none of us are going to lose sleep over this. We’ll be just fine while you’re practicing you’re better than all of us. Have a good one. :)

Mine went to Taiwan too. Where is the plane from there headed to?

To Anchorage. It’s scheduled to land just after midnight Anchorage time.
[doublepost=1541293699][/doublepost]And it’s starting to look like we might not see a departure scan until after it lands in Anchorage and gets an arrival scan. UPS59 is the flight number if anyone wants to keep track of it.

My iPad didn’t get on the flight to Taiwan.

I wonder if the 11” are taking a different plane.

Here's a pic of the airport in Chek Lap Kok for those interested in seeing the location of your Apple stuff!

It will probably go to your carrier first then to you. It might not be matched up to 'you' until it's in the carriers hands and they add it to your account. That's how it works with AT&T. With them I wont know it's whereabouts until they ship it from Kentucky. My Pencil 2 I ordered direct from Apple though and can see it's in AK now.

Just as an experiment though I'm going to see if I can track by reference using the new phone number assigned to my account for the new iPad.

I like to check on my Apple shipment’s whereabouts and track the cargo flights and speculate when it will come to US side like a fair amount of people in Macrumors every year for preorders, but I still go out and have my life. I’m not locked away in my house obsessing over this thing, and it’s part of the fun... I don’t get people criticizing and saying the same old “get a life” spiel we inevitably get in every tracking thread. We’re all here because we’re Apple enthusiasts, aren’t we?

Anyway, my Pencil is in Anchorage now and my iPad is in ZhengZhou. I bet it will be in Anchorage around Monday, it will be fun tracking the movement across the US since they move fast once they land here!

You must be new here.

And trust me this is nothing compared to the iPhone order. Those threads blaze a trail right into hundreds of pages of posts obsessing over every shipping update and detail. People here know better than UPS/Apple first level customer service exactly how a device leaves China and gets to the U.S.

Now excuse me while I go try to break the servers over at UPS with refreshes to my tracking page...

wtf mine is still in the second stage of processing... and it says that it will arrive on 7th of november...

edit. just changed to “preparing order” :)
Don't worry, they will come as planned since Apple is always on time for my twenty times purchases.

Is it just me but has anyone elses status not updated from preparing for shipping to shipped? I tracked mine using the reference method which shows all three items have shipped out but Apple has not updated it yet lol.

No one is showing shipped yet. They update to shipped when they clear customs now.

Yep, and that happens once the shipments reach Anchorage, AK. They get customs cleared there and then get shipped to Louisville, KY. From there they move to your destination post.

^note this is for the US orders. I don’t know how others work.

Not the case with the pencil as mine is in Louisville, but still showing PFS. Will probably sit there until Tuesday.

The honesty here is admirable lmao. You win best post of the day.

Clearing customs in the US anyway, doesn’t happen until it gets the “import” scan in either Louisville or Ontario, CA (for the west coast). That’s the second most important scan, second only to the “destination scan” it receives at the final location right before it gets loaded on a truck and out for delivery.
[doublepost=1541312304][/doublepost]Well it appears that UPS63 didn’t have keyboard folios on it after all since it landed over an hour ago now and there isn’t an arrival scan for neither of ours. I guess our keyboards are still sitting in Hong Kong.

UPS59 lands in Anchorage in a little under two hours so hopefully around that time we’ll see arrival scans for our iPads.

Looks like UPS’ system continues to have problem updating for some reason. iPads on UPS59 made it to Anchorage but didn’t show departure scans until they got arrival scans in Anchorage.

I also see that the time stamps don’t make sense though. What’s there for departure from Taiwan is quite a bit after the actual departure (usually its shortly before or right at take off time) and what’s more puzzling is the arrival scan time stamp is several hours before the plane actually landed in Anchorage.

It definitely wasn’t there before the plane landed because when I got up a while ago to take our newer puppy outside I checked and the time was well after the time stamp and the plane was still in the air. So that’s a bit confusing.

We’ll see what happens in a little bit when it takes off again headed for Louisville.

Looks like it got bumped up because it took off while I was writing this. Hopefully we’ll see departure scans from Anchorage in the next hour or so. If not then I guess we won’t see them until it arrives in Louisville.

I know some people see this as a bit pointless, after all it’ll get here when it gets here and that’s that.

But there’s no harm in a bit of fun, or for that matter getting a bit excited that your shiny new toy is winging its way to you.

Hell, I do it with my next day delivery orders from Amazon and other places. I like to see where it is, where it’s been and roughly when it’ll be with me. Though that’s partly so I can make sure I’m in.

We do this with pretty much every major new Apple release. iPhones/iPads/Macs and probably always will. No harm in getting excited.

On that note, my order is preparing for dispatch. Not that it’s likely to get here any earlier than Wednesday anyway. But still, only a few short days and I’ll get (another) early Christmas present for myself :D

And now there is a departure scan at 1:36am from Anchorage. For the first time for these iPads there’s a departure scan prior to arriving at the next stop. UPS59 is scheduled to land at 9:19am central time.

Looks like the 12.9 keyboard folios are still sitting in Hong Kong. Don’t know why UPS is letting them collect dust there...they’ve been there for a solid three days now. Hopefully they catch a ride on the next flight out.

Well said.

I don’t really get the point of people coming into threads to crap on them. If it annoys you then ignore it, don’t open the thread. Everyone is happier that way. Only reason to hop in and take a virtual dump on a thread is for the fun of trolling.
