An example of really great design in Safari: if you pile a lot of toolbar items to the right end of the toolbar but few to the left (like many do), what used to be the address bar becomes tiny because it always wants to be centred in the bar, even when there's room to grow to its left.

And who can guess which forum page I was looking at when I captured that picture? :p

Is there any chance to see someday the OS X version 11.01.01 or whatever else short name? If not, why the hell do they need this "10"???? Is it so difficult to understand my point???

You are making it difficult. There will never be a 11.01.01, they may be 10.11.1.

It's marketed as OS X Yosemite. The 10.10 version number is only mentioned in About This Mac. Apple have not marketed the version number for quite some time, as its irrelevant. The Mac part of Mac OS X was dropped years ago, it's now simply OS X.

Stop focusing too much on it. Even Apple doesn't mention it and it's doesn't seem to annoy other people.

You can just get rid of the flexible spaces right?

Well, there might be an 11.1.1, but only when they replace the kernel and such.

Even then, it will probably be called OS X 11.1, because the OS X name is too valuable now.

Anyway, it's not worth getting so upset about versioning:
  • Chrome is on version 35 now.
  • Firefox was on 4.x for a couple of years, and is now at 30 after rapidly increasing numbers.
  • Linux was on 2.6.x for nearly a decade before Linus Torvalds changed it to 3.0 because he felt like it.
  • Windows 7 is actually Windows 6.1, Windows 8 is Windows 6.2, and Windows 8.1 is Windows 6.3.

Post #3 will be continually updated

OP wasn't getting everything in the thread, so I've complied a list of everything in this thread (I think). It doesn't include:

- big features shown on the Yosemite Preview on Apple.com, or the Keynote
- bugs
- Things that haven't changed since 10.9
- Anything relating to third party software.

Wanted to link to the user that had noted each change, but too time consuming. Have linked back to the thread for Pics.

General
- boot screen is now the same as iOS: black background, white apple, thin loading bar Pic
- login screen is your desktop Picture blurred, instead of black background.
- When you set up your Mac you can set it up to sign in with your Apple ID.
- Lock screen/login screen Pic
- Full Trash image Pic

If you have a screen saver set you can see it moving in the background of your screensaver/sleep password.

It's not a given that it's black.

For some it's black for others, including me, it's white. ;)

What's you model?

I've upgraded a 2013 iMac, 2013 MBA and 2013 15 Retina. All black.
Will edit the original post (#3)

Airplay audio performance is greatly improved. There are no delays in audio streaming anymore for me.
