Something that I found and don't know if was before in Sportlight , when you search a file , holding option-command and click opens the folder in which the file is located .

Hmm... Actually it's command + double click. For me it is at least, and it would be strange if it worked differently on different systems?

Every (Mac) OS X release to date does the menu selection flicker. Apple never removed it.

EDIT: I have an eMac standing in the next room running Mac OS X Leopard, the flicker is present there too. Just checked.

Does twitter notifications still work for anyone in yosemite?

When I signed into twitter they added my account as usual to my "internet accounts", and in the notification setting I have Twitter set to "banner". In Mavericks I got a little notification whenever someone I follow tweeted but now there is radio-silence. When I look at the notification center it's completely empty.

Any ideas?

EDIT: I now realised my error:
You have to go to the twitter client itself and enable notifications for tweets.

Hey guys, just a quick check-in from a 13" MBA mid-2011. In the betas I had a few performance issues, animations were sometimes laggy, but now I can say that in the final versions almost all of the animations are actually quite a bit smoother than they were in Mavericks. It's most noticeable with the "going full screen" animation and when opening a second tab in Safari (in Mavericks there was always a jolt as the tab view appeared).

P.S.: btw I don't know what they did with Safari, but it's blazing fast!!! Yeah, it got noticeably "snappier" with every major OS X release, but this time it's damn striking. Pages are just appearing in the twinkling of an eye. I wasn't sure if I wanted to rush ahead installing Yosemite as my primary system but this alone made me change my mind.

Changes

… my bet is that it is nothing more than a consolidation of the GM/PB build numbers and nothing has actually changed.

Recovery OS aside, for a moment: changes exist, they're minor. Not significant enough for me to go into detail (I doubt that they belong under 'All The Little Things').

I've been debating upgrading. Reluctant because of the issues I've had with iOS 8. I know two completely different platforms but still. I hope that safari is fast because it really lacks as of right now. I normally don't use other browsers, but when certain sites just don't work properly on safari it's a shame.

Are there any issues with yosemite right now?

Compatibility

Where can i go read what devices are compatible with these hand off and continuity features? for both iOS and OS X?

EDIT: I found it on Apple's support site.

When you press Control+Shift+Eject to turn your screen off:

In Mavericks, there is a little delay then the screen instantly turns off.
In Yosemite, the screen instantly starts to fade to black. This fading takes 1-2 seconds to make the screen instantly black.

A very minor difference there but something I noticed and very appropriate for this topic.

They've subtly changed the preview pane in Finder windows in Yosemite. Metadata is given more prominence – the filename is huge now and metadata text is slightly larger -- and centered vertically in the white space beneath the asset preview, such that there is always wasted white space at the bottom. The really bad result of this is that a Finder preview pane in Yosemite will have a smaller asset preview size than a same-sized window in prior versions of OS X.

For me, seeing the asset preview (usually a photo thumbnail) is the most important function of this feature, but now apparently Apple think that seeing file metadata is of equal importance. The only way to return Yosemite asset previews to the same size as prior OS X versions is to make the Finder window about 40% taller.

Intermittently, when I swipe up on the trackpad with four fingers to access Mission Control and then switch spaces, the menu bar on the space I move to is blank on the left (e.g. no apple menu item, etc.). Only happens when I access using the trackpad. Switching spaces in other ways (like keyboard shortcut) doesn't bring out this issue.

Issues

I found some issues.. Very frustrating..

1) when opening multiple tabs in safari, the all piled up on the left side of the tab bar. I couldn't even go to the next tab until i clicked multiple times on the empty space which slowly shifted the tabs into their original position like in mavericks.

2) My bluetooth isn't working. my headphones connect find but the audio still plays out of my computer.. very frustrating.

EDIT

Going into system preferences i had to change audio output to my headphones. I hope i don't have to do this every time!

I had this issue as well. Restarting the Dock fixed it for me.

You're going to have to after every restart at least (AFAICT) until it's fixed. A tip: ⌥ click the volume menu bar icon to quickly choose your input and output source.

Try scrolling when your mouse is on tabs :)

I'm not sure when exactly this was introduced, but I just noticed you can now close tabs on your iOS device from Yosemite and vice versa:
