Probably relevant for very few people here, but they've added a Hebrew dictionary to the Dictionary app.
This means that now the spelling checker works in Pages, and all other apps that uses the dictionaries to check spelling.

I don't know if this was already mentioned, but here is one small thing about Safari:
You can now turn off Tabs Toolbar even if you have multiple tabs opened. Pretty neat for small screens, since I can use trackpad and gestures to expose tabs :)

The included utilities have changed, a plus means added, a minus means removed:

I thought someone said it was libressl now?

screen, bash, vim, emacs: no love, same versions

/System/Library
+DuetExpertCenter
+DuetKnowledgeBase
+Intelligent Suggestions
+Internet Plug-Ins
+Receipts
-ColorPickers
-Spelling

/Library

I find it BIZARRE that an /System/Library/Internet Plug-Ins dir was added since it won't be possible to install there for most users anyway and /Library/Internet Plug-Ins still exists.

Also ew ew ew ew:
/Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.oracle.java.JavaUpdateHelper

How about Python and Perl? Is Python still at 2.7?

I'm wondering what El Cap looks like on a non-retina / 1080p screen?

I'm still on Mavericks because I didn't like Yosemite.

However, my Mac Mini is now plugged into a 32 inch 1080p TV. (So it looks dire anyway - great for streaming TV shows but not much else!)

It's available for download in the Developer Centre (without an account) though is only intended for use with iOS, Mac and Apple Watch applications. Though... I'm guessing they'd allow it to be used in materials promoting said apps too.
Care to provide us with a link? The only one I've found required a dev account.

I don't have pictures of me now, but considering all the stuff you're asking, I highly doubt Notes will be for you. It's pretty basic and hasn't changed much (if at all), from what it's like today. The only really difference is being able to do tick lists and have a slightly nicer looking web link, (which only takes up more space anyway).

well, give it some credit. it does have some decent sketch tools for note taking, as well as handwriting for notes.

When Safari is in split view and you resize the split bar to make it smaller, the web page not just resize but zoom out with smaller font size. <-- this is my face the first time I saw it

It's a feature or a bug?

It's annoying btw.

I think that depends on the site you are viewing. Responsive designs should scale accordingly.

Did Apple fix the mistake when dragging a USB drive (for example) to the trash, it says TRASH instead of EJECT?

Not noticed anything major yet but jesus on a velociraptor it's snappy as hell, all of the animations have gone turbo! (i5 MBP 2012).

EDIT:Actually, have just noticed this, my HD4000 memory access has increased beyond 1GB although it does still say Yosemite for some reason!!!

Ho can that happen? Isn't it a fixed amount? On another note, my MBP already shows 1536MB. How come?

How can we test this?

By connecting a 30bpp (10-bit color per channel) capable screen to a mac running 10.11 and checking the OSD of the screen. Depending on the manufacturer, it should say something about the input signal. (I think, if apple supports it, they'll spare users the settings.)

In older versions of OS there was a way to switch from 16 to 24 bit color, but it's been removed since all macs are running at 24 bit.

http://www.cnet.com/news/managing-display-output-colors-in-os-x/

My hopes that it'll be supported are low, but windows started supporting it 5 years ago, so it might be worth asking.

option click on calibration to get the expert adjustments back ;)

I think, i a couple of years, pro users wills just put something heavy on the ⌥ - key :D

Oh, I see. Then sorry, I can't test it. OS X internally uses double numbers (0.0-1.0 scale instead of 0-255 integers) for each color channel so perhaps it is not so hard task to implement support for higher bpp screens.

Although since 10.9 the amount of allocated VRAM for iGPUs scales dynamically, Apple is able to change the maximum in software at will. Side note: what you see in the system info panel is always the maximum that the software is designed to allocate from main RAM, not necessarily the amount your machine is actively utilizing.

Requires a paid dev account, unfortunately.
I don't remember exactly how to find it, but fwiw I managed to download the original group of Sans Fran fonts (when it was just for the Apple Watch) from the developer site with a free dev account.

I noticed notifications are now handled differently. It shows you the X most recent notifications in the notification center and if you clear those, it shows missed ones.
