Yes, tweaked, just before the window comes to a stop during the animation.I was not talking about Quick Look either. The animation is already present and I see no difference from the public beta when I look at the video. Or has the animation been tweaked that you call it ‘inertia’?
Yes, tweaked, just before the window comes to a stop during the animation.
Yes. Very annoying.
Did Activity Monitor already have full screen?
It seems that this animation is already available in previous beta, but the animation speed is lower. Here's a screen recording: https://copy.com/6BdlWLp2avmG0pkY
Activity monitor alteady supports full screen.Did Activity Monitor already have full screen?
No. The animation is different, instead of a linear animation it now has an ease out at the end that decelerates it.It seems that this animation is already available in previous beta, but the animation speed is lower.
Cons: None.
That’s weird. When I loaded it, it did not ask me to turn on FileVault. I did it myself a day later.I just started up the new public beta and was asked if I want to turn on file vault. The boxes were checked by default. So does apple want this to be the default now?
Also what are the pros and cons for having it on?
It's barely noticeable really. I do agree though that a lot of other animations in OS X Yosemite aren't as polished as they used to be, which should definitely be addressed.I have to agree with Troy2000 on this. One of the compelling things about the Mac has always been the polish. Laggy UI elements, or out of sync animations make it feel less polished, and more Windows-y, in my opinion.
Looks better.Here's a screen recording: https://copy.com/6BdlWLp2avmG0pkY
FileVault in Yosemite is slow during boot (often 1min+ to boot) and buggy (often reboots after typing in password). Hoping that if Apple are pushing this now, El Cap makes it more stable.Booting takes a bit longer and you can’t partition your drive as long as it’s encrypted and formatted as CoreStorage. Also, if you lose the recovery key and lose access to your Mac, your data is gone. I know enough people who still don’t even think about regular backups and regularly forget their passwords.
That's odd. I don't have that issue on my Yosemite machines. It boots up very quickly and has always been stable for me. There could be something else going on causing your issues. Hopefully, whatever it may be, El Capitan will fix it for you.FileVault in Yosemite is slow during boot (often 1min+ to boot) and buggy (often reboots after typing in password).
Alas, it was the first thing I did on my new MBP, before anything else and the change was immediate. Partly due to OS X catching some of the crashes, Apple will have fair number of crash reports from me.That's odd. I don't have that issue on my Yosemite machines. The cube animation in the Setup Assistant is not new – it's been there at least since 10.4 (perhaps even earlier, I can't tell). There was a new animation when installing it and going through the various screens. Kind of a cube transition effect. Kind of odd honestly, seems dated and not necessary.
