While this might not be classified as a "bug" but I find it highly annoying.

As of Developer Beta 8 - Changing the App Store icon is no longer allowed.

The app it self has gone in full lockdown. You can not add anything to the app files, neither remove/delete.

I would appreciate if something could try changing the App Store icon on the Public Beta to see if this is persistent there as well.

I've tried restarting, using app icon changing apps and alot more with no success. Being someone that loves to make icons and use my own self made icons, this is annoying.

The only reason I could think the app icon is unchangeable is either they are planning of a revamp of the App Store on Mac and don't want anyone to change anything before the revamp releases.

Or they are killing off personalization like they killed of Flavours 2 for OS X El Capitan.

Anyone else have trouble with the volume control buttons on the keyboard? I'm getting a massive lag between responses.

Wow. I was very optimistic about El Capitan, but having read this thread is it seems I'll be waiting quite a while before installing it.

In the meantime, I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to see whether a bug from Yosemite has been fixed?

In Mail, create a new email.
Select Add attachment...
Resize the Choose attachment sheet (I make it bigger because I'm working on a 30" screen)
Send the email

Quit Mail and repeat the above. In Yosemite, the choose attachment sheet reverts to its original default size. (about 700x450px).

I probably end up resizing this sheet 40 times a day. It's driving me mad. Once upon a time it used to be floating window which was far more flexible.

Thanks in advance.

I must be terrible at math, because this doesn't add up. I'm not sure if this bug was present in the previous beta version or not.

I understand this is a Beta, but the past two DPB on my Macbook Pro Mid 2010 i7 has been useless. App's take a long time to open and the dock doesn't work anymore. It's like they're taking a step backwards a little. But i am hoping for a slightly better built in the next one before Sept 9

It's been there sporadically. If it bothers you, you can usually fix it be re-indexing Spotlight.
Go into Terminal and type: sudo mdutil -E /
This will start indexing. You'll probably want to do it overnight or when you're not going to use the computer for a while.

This is weird! When I am trying to calibrate display, it just skipping Setup dialogue page which is not letting me select Advanced Mode. Basically display calibration is of no use!
Is anyone else facing the same?

Hold alt down when clicking 'calibrate' and you'll go into the advanced mode.

Hello. New guy here. Em. Just a little while back I updated to PB 6. And just this morning I started experiencing weird cursor/trackpad behavior. It would just start moving erratically and/or starting clicking randomly.

I have noticed that when the Mac heats it gets worse. So I turn it off and back on and the issue goes away.

Thought it was a swollen battery, but just checked and everything seemed to be fine (Phew...!).

So. Is there anyone having a similar issue? Anyone know any workaround? I tried googling the issue but all the help I could get was dated from 2010-2011. So I thought I post it here see if anyone had a similar problem.

Oh. I have a MBP 15-inch Mid 2010.

:)

Update:

New guy again. So I tried first resetting the SMC and, it appeared to work for a while but then the trackpad started acting all jumy again *sigh*. Thus I looked for other possible fixes and about 6 hours ago I reset the PRAM and it actually fixed the problem. The trackpad/cursor hasn't been to any funny business ever since.

Anyways, hope it helps someone.

Cheers.

Horrible memory leaks in iTunes 12.2.2.25, i have no idea whats causing it, cant see a pattern in my usage that sets it of, it works great for up to an hour or two then it rapidly starts eating up my memory, about 10mb of memory per second, i wouldnt be bothered if it actually used that memory but it eats up my memory until my system gets almost totally unresponsive so it is clearly a memory leak issue since the OS cant seem to free up the memory from iTunes if other processes needs it.

Just updated to the GM candidate and Mail is crashing on launch. It appears to be a Gmail issue:

"
Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to exception while holding database lock 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Cannot set MFGmailLabelStore as data source for message.'
abort() called"

Am I the only one with this graphical glitch? It seems like the framebuffer is a bit broken.

Everything is in the description. And it's still not fixed in the GM build...

Still cannot set up new exchange accounts in 10.11GM
I am having this same issue. A lot of Exchange issues appeared to resolve for other folks in the last PB, but this has been a consistent problem on both of my machines (new MBA and new MBP). My guess is that it's an issue for the folks who run my Exchange server to figure out, rather than an issue with the GM.

I'm worried that you're right - because the folks that run our Exchange server look after about 40,000 corporate accounts, and helping people access their calendars from home machines is hardly their main priority.

I think it is on apple's side (or should be...) things work fine on iOS 9 GM and the first instance of my exchange account, it is just the 2nd, 3rd, etc, mac turning on the exchange account through "internet accounts" that fails. You can read all the server settings (they are greyed out) in mail. On the first machine they are correct, on the rest they are just the defaults.

I guess I'm lucky... the folks that run ours only look after 3400. :)

Is the Feedback app broken for anyone else? I get a "The operation couldn’t be completed. (FBAFilerErrorDomain error -1.)" error when I try to submit.

I'm currently installing Yosemite on a USB drive to check and see if anything has changed at our end; if not I might try a clean install of GM and see if that makes a difference. Our guys don't let us access mail through exchange, but I have always been able to access my calendar and contacts.

I'm having memory leaks that are so bad it results in "Your Startup Disk is Almost Full" error messages, which then freezes up my MBP. Trying at the moment to discover if it's a particular app.

And like many others, I can't use Outlook 2011 because it constantly freezes. Sigh.

This is ridiculous...

YftYFkN.png

I've reinstalled, as well as deleted the finder.plist's, and wiped the user out then re-added using Migration assistant (after finding that it could not be replicated on a new user). And still Finder is unresponsive, requires a force quit, and the CPU usage stays well over 100% all the time. I'm afraid that El Capitan is gonna burn out my logic board, the fan is running all the time. I think I'm going to downgrade until the final release, because I can't seem to fix this, and I don't want to bust my MBPr.

Shame, as this is the only Major issue with the release for me. I filed my bug report, and I'll have to uninstall. If anyone has solved this issue, or has a fix, please let me know ASAP before I do a full uninstall tomorrow.

(attached a Finder sample from Activity Monitor in case that helps.)
