Bug with minimised windows:

I have just notice that Notes app and Activity Monitor when minimised do not re-open / bring the window back up if you click on the app icon on the dock. I have not noticed this bug with any other apps. May be worth keeping an eye out to see if any other apps are effected by this.

  1. Airdrop doesn't work, El Capitan is not able to see the device to airdrop to...
  2. Finder doesn't remember the last position of folders ( in folder or in list view ) when you browse through folder.
  3. Safari doesn't show the download speed in download section or only for very short time (0.5 or 1 second ).
I think that another El Capitan GM candidate should be released before 30 Sept.

I'm not having the Safari issues you are.

im having an issue with safari and my dual monitors. i have safari on my second monitor and it has multiple tabs. if i drag one of those tabs off that window that tab will then open on the main monitor instead of the monitor where i dragged it off of safari. super annoying...

Just got this in the GM Candidate:

Anyone else getting this consistently? Every hour or more in getting the screen go grey, it hangs for a minute then restarts. It seems to happen at random but is getting more frequent. I'm on the GM candidate.

This is really odd but since I installed GM:
1. some fonts disappeared from my library
2. I can't resize anything in Photoshop CC 2014, because the image (multilayer or flat) turns into black

Seems like more bugs than when Yosemite was at this stage. I thought this year it was to be about bug fixes and stability? Seems not at all. I think for the first time in many many years I may wait this out a bit. Maybe some of these issues are3 one off's for whatever reason, but this seems more like an early beta than anything close to a GM candidate.

I'm having memory leaks that are so bad it results in "Your Startup Disk is Almost Full" error messages, which then freezes up my MBP. Trying at the moment to discover if it's a particular app.

And like many others, I can't use Outlook 2011 because it constantly freezes. Sigh.

I've now isolated it as an issue with Mail. Within minutes of opening the Mail app, everything slows down to a crawl and then I get the message that my startup disk is full. This is awful.

Exactly! Unfinished UI touches, too. Embarrassing we're at GM and those minor, easy UI quirks hasn't been fixed yet!

a) Trackpad gestures - see the bad cropped out keyboard between the image and trackpad? That wasn't there in Yosemite and earlier; the image properly stretched to the line separating the keyboard and trackpad area. Has been there since B4 or something.

b) Inconsistent desktop wallpapers in the "Hot Corners" dialog - under Desktop & Screensavers, the old Yosemite wallpaper is shown, see below.

In Mission Control, the proper El Cap wallpaper is shown.

I don't know if this qualifies as a bug, but I'm wondering if something has changed with the way OS X handles date formatting at system level. I'm having issues with Numbers not recognising dates as dates, no matter what I do (tried altering date formatting in SP as well as within cell formatting in Numbers itself). When I tried the same file on the same version of Numbers in Yosemite it worked just as I expected. I've also posted more detail about this in the Mac apps section; I'd be interested in knowing whether anyone else has experienced this since upgrading.

The keyboard thing could be intentional, to give a bit more of context.
Doubt it, why did Apple leave it as is for the past 5 OS releases, then suddenly change it in El Cap? Also, the keys aren't cropped out smoothly; half of the text on the keyboard is cropped. Looks awful, so I'm feeling it's a bug of some kind.

Yes, it is almost like people come up with new ideas and trying to make stuff better, so weird, why would they do that?
But the exposed keyboard showing doesn't make it look better. In fact, it makes it look more amateurish and unfinished. Of course, that's my opinion, and others are free to disagree.

It doesn't have to "look better" if it provides better contextual information. You're not meant to stare at it, it's a help video showing you how gestures work.

Anyone noticed that inserting characters with accents (á, ä, â etc.) using hold and press is disabled in the GM version.

Enabling it can be done by entering "defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true" in terminal and restart afterwards.

Greetings all;

Got a weird situation here. Every time I do the El Capitan update, my archived mail gets lost. I have to delete the mail folder from the El Capitan hard drive and replace it with the Mail folder from my Yosemite drive and have it updated. Any way that this can be rectified?

Other than that, El Capitan is great.

Installed the GM and 'updated' to beta 1. Can't say i've had any issues so far or show stoppers. I prefer it to Yosemite which was really starting to annoy me. Everything i've played with so far (albeit a short period) works fine.

This is the first time i've updated this quickly since OS X Tiger.
