I've just upgraded to El Capitan and when I wake the computer from sleep (reopening the shut screen after at least an hour), my built-in keyboard and trackpad are unresponsive. Furthermore, the system looks for a Bluetooth keyboard automatically.

Anyone else have this issue? Any advice?

thanks!

MBP13 (late 2013)

Yeah, I am having the same problem. When my mac (air mid 2012) comes from sleep it sometimes takes like 5-10 seconds until mouse/keyboard/trackpad becomes responsive again. Haven't found solution so far.

El capitan has destroyed my bootcamp partition and won't let me make a new one, it also destroyed the rescue disk partition. Anyone else has this? Anyone find any solutions?

I had that happen to me on 10.8 or 10.9, the partition of my fusion drive was destroyed and I could no longer create a Bootcamp partition. If you have a fusion drive let me know if you need help with this as it took me many weekends of searching to find the solution. It's a massive pain to fix.

Yes, exact same problem here on a mid-2012 macbook pro. Also unable to get it to sleep properly.

If I run

pmset -g assertions

I notice that the final output line is:

Idle sleep preventers: IODisplayWrangler

Is this normal? I have noticed last night my Macbook didn't sleep through the night, with lid closed and no apparent reason to not do so. This morning the battery was drained (it was >20% before going to bed). I am on ElCap public beta, but I don't think this matters, as I've never experienced this in the last days.

just installed it on the 15-inch (classic, 2012) and holy snapyness... video performance is night and day compared to yosecrap.

but, for some weird reason i cannot boot into recovery to disable SIP - it goes straight into internet recovery which probably will not work for this anyway.

is there a fix for this? i'm using a samsung 840evo SSD, maybe that's it... weird thing.

Photos app won't sync new imported photos to other devices, UNLESS, the same file was uploaded to iCloud elsewhere (I did through iCloud.com). Then, the original Photos app imported photo will show up on all devices, next to the iCloud.com photo. Deleting files still works as intended with no bugs.

Installed El Capitan on 5K Retina iMac with Fusion Drive and now whenever I restart or shut down the computer, it "hangs" on the black screen for a good 5-10secs, then you get the lined circle icon spin a few times and THEN it will restart/shut down. Never had the black screen hang for this long.
Anyone else getting this? o_O

I timed my iMac and it "hangs" 23 seconds then it decides to start shutting down.

I've been getting an error in the Mac App Store and iCloud preference pane ever since beta 2 (I believe). Now running beta 3 (10.11.1 Beta (15B30a)).

The Mac App Store gives me an error every time I try to update anything:

An unexpected error occurred while signing in.
Your device or computer could not be verified. Contact support for assistance.

Strange thing is that I can update all system updates, beta or otherwise, but nothing else. Not Xcode. Not the Kindle app, etc.
iCloud preference pane error:

Sign in to use your Apple ID.
The password for "appleidhere" needs to be updated.
An unknown error occurred. (this is in red)
Password field.

All other devices work just fine with my Apple ID. So that isn't the problem.

My iMac allows me to update everything in the Mac App Store. It's just my MacBook that won't let me update anything and it's the only one running the public beta of El Cap. THAT has to be the issue. At least that's what I deduced and what a support person told me. I hope that's the case.

Anybody else?

i have installed HP and Epson printer driver 3.1 released by Apple last week.on El Capitan DP2. I downloaded them from Apple download website, not through Mac App Store, and I install them manually. I do not have any printer connect yo my system, and I install them just in case I may need to print through these two branspds of printer. The installation went fine.

Right after installed, my RMBP is not booting properly. It hang at black Apple logo screen and hang after loading bar bad come to full. No mouse cursor appear on the boot screen as it should GE.

I have recovered my system from Time Machine and reinstall these two printer drivers again, then reboot, and the same problem occur.

I have to restore my system for the second time and it took me more than 2 days to do 2 restores and to update my system to jake it up to date.

DO NOT INSTALL APPLE PRINTER DRIVER 3.1 FOR EPSON AND HP. THEY WILL MAKE YOUR SYSTEM UNBOOTABLE. I REPEAT THIS AGAIN.

Any friend here experienced the same problem as I did? Advise please
i've had the same problem. i don't know to resolve it but i know what is the problem. to reboot normally you have reboot in S mode and delete the epson extension that you find in library/extesions. in that way you don't have to restore all you mac but i don't know how to resolve the problem.

A little bug bothers me something crazy:

When I wake up my iMac I see an idiotic message that says my iCloud Session Has Expired. I never started iCloud in the First Place! iCloud is COMPLETELY disabled for every possible App; I just don't need iCloud, memory drives being so cheap.

But if I'm listening to iTunes or have it open I WILL see that message when I wake my iMac up. I almost constantly listen to iTunes unless I need to listen to something else.

It's small, it's irritating and I wish it would go AWAY!

Along with everything else, yes. El Capitan is a disaster so far. Lots of beachballs. OS gets slower and slower the longer computer is on. Crashed after two days and had to power off to restart. How do I go back to Yosemite!
Microsoft ergonomic keyboard - Alt and command keys AFU. All apps very slow to open. When waking from sleep everything slow to open again, including dock.

Same problem, iMac early 2013, turbo 3TB). Won't let me eject time machine external disk. Have to hard eject. All apps slow to open, particularly Office 2008 apps. Wife's iMac (early 2014), very slow everywhere, Entourage freezes, OS very slow to restart. Had to hard eject Entourage to enable restart. El Capitan is a disaster, badly needs fixing.
My iMac hangs for several minutes to restart. Apple really screwed up this time. Will never update OS until six months in future.

The Issues I'm having in El Capitan on my 08 MacPro:

1. Attempting to sign into iCloud fails every time - Although System Preferences says that I'm signed in, none of iCloud's services are working.

2. Upon launching Safari I am greeted with the "Start Using Safari" screen every time - No idea how to stop this cycle other then not quitting Safari, super annoying since every time it loads that screen the OS hangs for about 30 seconds.

3. Mail.app "upgrades" the mail library then closes. Then loops like this infinitely - I've resorted to using Airmail.app instead.

4. Upon restarting my Mac I am greeted with the "Setup this Mac" screen every time - This appears to be tied to the iCloud sign in process some how as that is the only part of the setup that is prompted.

Other then those items El Capitan runs about the same as Yosemite for me. Kind of a bummer...

EDIT:

I also have a 2011 MBP that is running El Capitan - No issues whatsoever... Totally great experience.

Anyone experiencing Safari lagging?

No but I get the "Start Using Safari" screen endlessly - every time I open a window - and it makes the OS hang.

Yes. I've had to hold down the power to shutdown. Wish there was another work around.
I know the last time it happened, I was not connected Ed to power.

This issue seems to be present in 10.11 https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7000724 Had flicking on my screen several times since installing 10.11. Also had a system freeze while using FireFox with YouTube on HTML5, but don't think it's related to what's described in that thread, since it wasn't really a kernel panic.

Had to disable auto graphics switching as a temporary solution. 10.10.2 was the last version that didn't give me this problem.

Since updating to El Capitan, and the latest iTunes, any time I download app updates iTunes consumes my whole bandwidth.

As in, Safari (or any other app that uses the internet) stops working completely.

Anyone else having this issue?
