The recent items just didn't show. But the issue appears to have fixed itself.
The menu extras I'm talking about are those visible in the menu bar at the top right, next to spotlight.
Did you go to system prefs, click on audio and check the option to show in menu bar and do the same for wifi?

Of course. I don't mean they are not visible. I mean I cannot switch between menu extras just like any menus in the menu bar. It's as if you needed to click twice when you wanted to go from the "File" menu to the "Edit" menu. Very annoying.

When you use Mission Control/Exposé with the "Group windows by application" option checked, when you swipe on a group of app windows with two fingers (which expands them a little), and then if you move the cursor up to the Spaces/Desktops at the top of the screen, and then exit Mission Control/Exposé, all the rest of the windows will be weirdly transparent and you can't switch any of them to the foreground app except the one you swiped on with two fingers. You have to use Terminal to "killall Dock" to fix it.

Having lots of USB issues with 2013 nMP. A USB 2 stuck is working, I move it to MacBook to put some files on it, when I put it back in nMP it never shows up. Not even in disk utility.

If I reboot all is well.

Also partitions on a TB drive that are mounted and available on rMBP are NOT mounted when connected to nMP. And with the little toy version of disk utility no matter how many times I hit " mount" they won't. Going to keep Yosemite on rMBP until they get a chance to finish El Cap.

I'll bet there is a Post It buried on Tim's desk, "note to self, make sure engineers test El Capitan before release"

Is it CDs only? or DVDs as well. I have an external Blue ray drive and it worked for ripping CDs, watching DVDs and writing all media up to blue ray. Now I can still watch DVDs but CDs are not recognized as being music iTunes can play.
I can not get it to load any type of disk :(

Noticed when looking at photos with Preview and Lyn they are super dark or have the contrast bumped up. But viewed with Xee they look fine.

I can't get the stock Calendar app to open. It shows the "What's New in Calendar" window before going to a typical "Calendar quit unexpectedly" popup.

The crash log mentioned the following:
Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[NSURL initFileURLWithPath:]: nil string parameter'
terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException
abort() called

Damn that's silly - can't it just query a database that isn't US only? Like... Google? Yahoo? Or every other database in the world except Apple's?
It needs to parse your 'flowing language', which is an Apple-only server, and there needs to be one for each language available.

Hi guys, my system is freezing for few seconds (30s+) very often after El Capitan update. Most often it is inside the Chrome and worst when downloading. Do you have any tips how I can fix it? It is really annoying.

Three bugs I have with El Capitan.

The first one comes back from Yosemite. When I click on an iMessage notification it takes me to the general iMessage window instead of going back to the conversation window I had already open. It's VERY annoying.

The second one is even MORE annoying. In Safari when I click alt+cmd+[number] to go to some favorite website sometimes it doesn't work. It happens randomly within a Safari session and it comes back randomly whenever it wants without even reseting the app.

The last one concerns iCloud Drive that is not uploading the only 320KB Pages document I want to upload. It's been 5 hours already and it still says "Uploading".

I'm very sad about these bugs... :(

Did you submti them to apple?

I just did a fresh install, deleted previous yosemite partition, and now as I'm installing a few apps, so far Dropbox and YNAB, when I try to move the app window it starts moving all across the screen horizontally, then starts moving down and to the right slowly regardless of where I'm actually trying to move the window. After clicking and trying to move it a few times, it eventually does it right and smoothly. So far only happens on 3rd party apps and yes I've reported the issues about 5 minutes ago.

I was writing a long e-mail off line and saved as draft.

When I went to add to the e-mail 90% of the text was missing.

The first time you run the FaceTime camera freezing. The second time running - all okay. After restart the same on the first start Facetime. (Sorry for my English)

iTunes is skipping/glitching momentarily in music every few minutes while I use other programs. The iTunes library is on an SSD but the music files are on the existing HDD in my 2009 Macbook Pro. Never used to be a problem.

HDD sitting on OptiBay...?

I remember having this problem on Mountain Lion, but it was a nasty bug that Apple couldn't fix in time to write it off properly.
