When I click Edit on the Today View in Notifications center nothing comes up. It only shows a link button to the App Store. Only have Calender on Today view and it just states there are two events scheduled for today, but doesn't show them.

Serious bug: I am unable to switch to discrete GPU (from 9400M to 9600M GT - MB Pro 5.1). I get only message that logging out is needed to switch GPU's, then I get black screen. Nothing happens. Every now and then after some time system reboots with integrated GPU (9400M) turned on instead of discrete (9600M GT).

A restart corrected this issue.

When I have the mail.app minimized, it pops back up randomly once in a while - there are no errors, prompts, or mail activity (incoming/outgoing) when it does this - just sitting idle. Has anyone noticed this?

This issue has been resolved with the actual release of El Capitan. However, I've encountered two more annoyances: 1) I've turned off Guest User, just like I did it under Mavericks and Yosemite. I still see both my actual account and the Guest User each time I reboot, instead of being greeted with a password prompt for my actual account. 2) After I enter my account password, the "progress bar" disappears/flickers/appears at random places and the screen goes black momentarily. I did a clean install, by the way.

I know the MacBook Pro "sees" the iPhone, as the Photos app on my MBP launches EVERY TIME I CONNECT IT... UGH! Nowhere to shut that off...

Yep, same here. But there is a way to switch it off. Open "Image Capture" and you will see the option on the bottom left of the app window.

My MBPro 5.1 is unusable. It went in two modes:

1. Hanging on 2/3 of startup progress bar.
or
2. Restart loop. It goes 2/3 startup progress bar and then screen goes black, then goes restart.

Damn.

No disk images show up in the sidebar, despite having every option under "Devices" checked in "Show these items in the Sidebar" in Finder preferences. Anyone else have this?

Well what do you know - it's back with a second restart.

My external Super Drive no longer works in El Capitan:(
Is it CDs only? or DVDs as well. I have an external Blue ray drive and it worked for ripping CDs, watching DVDs and writing all media up to blue ray. Now I can still watch DVDs but CDs are not recognized as being music iTunes can play.

Hi Guy's,
So far the only problem I have is I can't wake it up from sleep. I have two monitors, only one lights up - the wrong one. I have to shut it down and do a hard restart and then everything is OK, ...till the next sleep period.

There seems to be some sort of bug in the audio subsystem. I've seen this crash several times, and can't get valid output via USB from many of my music players, including iTunes - my DAC just spits static :/

Hope this one gets fixed sooner rather than later!

OUCH! I'm in no mood for audio troubles. Think I'll wait a while on this update. I'm still on Mavericks. Thanks for the heads up!

USB Hub Does Not Work - 7 port AUKEY powered hub. Tried restarting, unplugging, but nothing more intrusive yet.

I'm on late-2013 rMBP 15 inch with a dedicated video card. I frequently use the zoom function which can be enabled in Accessibility settings. I'm using my rMPB in a clamshell mode with an external LED Cinema Display 27-inch connected. After I've upgraded from Yosemite to El Capitan, I've noticed that when I move the mouse across the screen while zoom is enabled, there are video artifacts in the form of fine lines left along the mouse pointer path. They will not go away until I resize the zoom or, for example, hover the mouse in Safari over some website button which changes its shape or color during hovering. This seems to be happening only while zoom is enabled and on an external monitor. This does not happen on the MBP's own screen even with zoom enabled. Anyone else seen this or can reproduce it? It should be fairly easy to reproduce by enabling Zoom in Accessibility and checking an external monitor while zoom is on.

Blu-ray ripping using an external no-name drive using MakeMKV and CD-ripping using iTunes and the internal iMac Superdrive, are both also working fine here with Capitan.

Is this supposed to display anything?

I also don't see any improvements in Spotlight (other than moving the window around) - is there a list of things I can type in somewhere? I received emails yesterday but when I type in "Emails I received Yesterday" I just get random PDFs and other stuff. When I type in "Presentations I worked on" I get PDFs again, yet I do have plenty of presentations. How does this work?
Most of that stuff is US only, since it queries databases.

2 issues I have seen. Maybe already reported here but I haven't read the 33 pages!
- Cannot switch between menu extras (sound, monitors, wifi...) without clicking twice: one to close the previous menu and another time to open the new one. In Mavericks I could do that without clicking.
- App recent items don't appear when right-clicking the app in the dock.

Both are pretty annoying. Can anyone else confirm?

If you right click on an icon in the doc and go to show recent.. For example, I have chrome open and I right click on calendar and go to show recent, chrome gets hidden. I click chrome again and right click on an icon and nothing happens until i actually click the chrome window and let it snap to the screen desktop.

The sound, Monitors, WIFI.. Not sure what you're talking about, have to be more specific...

I have Apple TV connected to a TV via an HDMI cable. Since the El Capitan upgrade, I have sound coming through to the TV but no display. I done all the usual checks, checked for updated software, unplugged equipment and restarts. It still doesn't work.

As a temporary measure, I was able to get round the issue by installing some third party software called Airparrot and I got both my display and sound back. I then uninstalled Airparrot and the display stopped working again. Whatever the issue, it does appear to be software related and directly connected to the El Capitan upgrade.

The recent items just didn't show. But the issue appears to have fixed itself.
The menu extras I'm talking about are those visible in the menu bar at the top right, next to spotlight.
