This is kinda not a bug in El Capitan itself but yeah, it impresses me that Logitech Control Center stops working at every new release of OS X.

With Mavericks and Yosemite i could not even open LCC, with El Capitan i can open LCC but none of my Logitech devices have the common decency to pair with my computers. :(

Agreed. My impression from having this happen over and over with Logitech is that their attitude is, "We don't have time to deal with pre-release/beta software. We'll just wait until its final, piss off a few customers, and then they'll be thankful when we finally release a working version."

The Bookmarks sidebar when you first open Safari is scrolled down a bit so that the search entry field is a bit obscured. What is it with Apple and their scrolling issues? iOS 9 is plagued by it and here we go with El Capitan.

Edit:

Seems like it's gone after a restart!

I simply can't seem to deactivate the Guest User on El Cap.

I've tried everything I can think of including things like deactivating find my Mac, etc. It's driving me mental. I just want to restore the same login procedure as Yosemite.

Power on > boot > cursor blinking in password field > type in password > login.

Right now, I'm having to select my account with the Guest User next to it and then type in my password which is just vvv annoying. Any help?

It may be this: The Guest User is activated if you use "Find My Mac" - maybe when installing El Capitan, you enabled that by accident (I think it's enabled by default so if you did nothing it would have enabled it). Try disabling Find My Mac and the Guest User should disappear.

The reason it works this way is because Find My Mac only works if someone connects your Mac to the internet - which won't happen if they don't know the password to your account - so the Guest Account is there as a "bait" to allow someone to connect to WiFi and browse the web, while Find My Mac locates your Mac.

Re-read my post ;). I've tried disabling Find My Mac. It still keeps reappearing.

The old bug with the progress bar being stuck under the Downloads folder in the Dock is still present.

I am amazed as why they still have yet to get rid of this bug...i mean its annoyign to look at and confusign but does not cause me to be unable to use a feature or something if you get my point, maybe thats why

OSX is rapidly becoming Windoze! What they consider features, I consider bugs! Notes is a prime example of taking a simple and useful program and adding unwanted and un-needed features until it is FUBAR. I will not be up-dating!

I've been a Mac user since System 7, but this may be the straw that broke the camels back.

When I move an active or an inactive window in OSX I do this:

Click the top of the window > place middle finger on touchpad > swipe where I want the window to go

This works fine on active windows, but now in El Capitan on inactive/background windows it only works 15% of the time, or there is a delay before it works. The main finger that clicked will still move the window, but the second finger will not do anything. Moving the primary finger will usually kick start the second one into working

Does anyone else have this problem? I don't think I have any software causing a problem and I have already reported it to apple. Give it a try, if it works try a few more times

if I move my fingers around an inch from each other it works, otherwise it messes up

When I use on my Mac Pro 2008 after upgrading from Yosemite, it commonly crashes and logs me out to the sign in screen. At first my desktop freezes up and then I see the spinning icon in the middle of the screen.

My computer is practically unusable! Please help.

OMG, Mavericks' Time Machine rears its' ugly head again in El Cap. Deja vu, 2013.

Time Machine is broken... again. Going from any other folder, other than the home folder (~) will just default to the home folder when entering Time Machine. This was dysfunctional in Mavericks, then Apple fixed it in 10.10.0, and it worked without a hitch all through Yosemite. Enter 10.11.0, and here we are back to 10.9.x (this problem persisted all through Mavericks).

Is anyone else experiencing this? I'll try and post a video soon. And, yes, filed a bug report. Just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing the same thing? There's a nasty beachball greeting me after exiting the TM interface, too, and it takes a few minutes for the Finder window to "release" and let me go on with my business.

El Capitan has ruined my Stopwatch. It cuts off 1/2 the number on the far right.

Before wasting my time on this, did someone try SMB ("Windows File Sharing") vs. AFP ? In Yosimite, SMB is horrible with constant "file not present anymore" errors when copying or moving stuff to a NAS. In the end I gave up and sticked to AFP, which is a bit slower (it seems), but works.

Just did this test 10.11
5disk raid over gbit ethernet smb 105MB/s write 95MB/s read
afp 103MB/s write 100MB/s read

I gave up SMB long ago; you're not alone.

Something new: I fail to umount/eject a USB stick, formatted FAT after a JAVA program read it.
All programs and applications closed except for diskutil to give it a try: failure "... Still in use".
Does anybody know how to determine why El Capitan might think so?
Most welcomed on my birthday.

Hi,

Since I updated to El Capitan yesterday, I found a number of small issues.
But this one I couldn't resolve.

VLC v2.2.1 app was broken.
Kept getting the error message " VLC quit unexpectedly..."
I have tried re-installing older versions as well as the most current V2.2.1 (5 times )

Had no problem on Yosemite before on different Mac machines.
I re-installed El Capitan using Internet recovery, but still the same issue happened.
Did anyone encounter this issue with VLC after updating from Yosemite to El Capitan?

2.2.1 works OK for me; I experienced that VLC quits when a film has been downloaded incompletely....
Can you test with a 'trusted' file?

Problem (probably) solved: 10.11 does not like it (unlike 10.10) when you block
file system events on a USB stick by replacing directory .fseventsd by a file by that name.

Thanks. Looks like I can stick to AFP. My new QNAP TS-451 can't go higher than 100 MB/s anyways over GigE.

What still annoys me is the mounting of NAS shares. I ticked "hide" under login items, but the Finder windows still pop up. It's the easiest way to mount shares, but guess I should move to an Applescript solution.
