Yes, it will indeed! Flashing the gMux IC with DeMux firmware will allow the system to work just fine (assuming the rest of the board is in tact) even with the GPU and its supporting circuitry completely removed. (If it doesn't work, just let me know and I'll refund you).Just got a donor board to replace SMC on the one I already flashed with GMUX and a customer killed while replacing battery. Donor board has better processor. It is missing GPU and 2 out of 4 GPU Memory Chips. Everything else seems to be intact and in good shape. It turns on, processor is getting hot. Will GMUX flash resurrect such board? It is easier than replacing SMC. Would rather know before I waste $20 on it. Any idea? Thanks!

The MuxHat is pretty much obsolete at this point, as my custom gMux IC firmware is an infinitely better solution. It both works WAY better, and is much easier to apply.Hi dosdude1,
Mines failed today such a shame as she looks brand new.
I've managed to get running using your gpudisable on high sierra and its working... for now .
I appreciate you efforts ! Have used your patchers in the past .
Eagerly awaiting the MUXHAT too .
Cheers

The Lattice programmer can be had very cheaply from China, and is easy to find. There is a link located on the DeMux webpage to the one that I use. It does take a little while for it to arrive, but as far as I'm aware, it's the only thing that can be used to flash the gMux IC on these systems.Hey there.
I have a Macbook Pro A1286 with the classic failed GPU.
I don't mind paying for the firmware update (I'd be happy to considering everything I've heard about it) - however, is there an alternative to flashing it with the Lattice programmer? (Something like a Raspberry Pi or other more accessible piece of kit?)
Where I am, I don't have ready access to specific hardware like that.
*EDIT*
Or the MuxHat. I wouldn't mind being able to order one of those, either.
JTAG_ISP_TCK
o.k.
but where is it!? ;-)
do you have a picture from board itself?
Bist ja auch deutsch...
Wo sind die Punkte?
Hast n Foto vom Board mit den Punkten?
It does. I've done EFI updates on many machines with DeMux firmware applied. Keep in mind you should use the High Sierra Patcher only to download High Sierra; you will need to use the createinstallmedia method to make a USB drive, or just install as an upgrade by running the app.Running...
But efi update works?
Nope, that cannot get overwritten. It is completely separate from the EFI.Demux will still work?
No need to do it again?
Check the system date and time.Update done.
Apfs is here and high sierra converted my hdd to apfs.
But i cannot install mojave with patcher.
And after formatting disk with apfs from diskutility in patcher it isnt recognized during boot whil press option key.
And this is the error i get:
No packages found...
