You beat me to this picture, I was just going to see if I still had it!! I remember these cars well.

Took me awhile to find it, from the logo on the steering wheel, I'd say it was a Studebaker at one time. Salt water does wonders for cars.
well, it is almost 5pm PDT/8pm EDT and here is the result of the challenge:I'm enjoying seeing pictures not of pets, so I want to issue a challenge to the entire group.
Let's take the next 24 hours and not post any dog or cat picts, while at the same time not reducing the number of posts we make.
The challenge starts now and ends at 8:00pm US EST or midnight GMT on April 2. (Yes. I know that is 24 hours and 40 minutes, but it's my challenge.)
1. no cat or animal pictures posted
2. 25 pics posted vs 18 during the preceding 24 hrs
So, the challenge was met.
It is worth to note though, out of the 25 pics, 21 were car or car part related (not counting the pic of the locomotive).
Ah, but there WAS yet another bloody cat photo posted in today's POTD!
Please, people, enough, just enough!!! Please just STOP already with the darned cat photos?!! Pretty please just cease and desist ANYWhere with them on the Digital Photography subforum.....put 'em up on the Pictures Gallery if you feel the compelling need to share.....

I am sorry and saddened that you feel that way, and I do believe that you are not speaking for everyone.
Everyone is different and has different needs, expressions, interests and opinions. What this world is lacking though is tolerance and also compassion.
I for one will not stop posting pics of cats as they are part of my family and also my favorite animal.
Actually, I like cats -- have shared my household with several through the years -- and they are delightful, fascinating creatures with enchanting personalities. Mine had me wrapped around their tails in nothing flat! They owned me. HOWEVER.... even if I had cats sharing my home right now, and even if I did take photos of them from time to time I would not be inundating a thread or two on a website with photo after photo after photo of them.....
It just seems as though all of a sudden we've had this influx of daily photos of several people's cats, and while at first it was kind of cute and funny, quite honestly, at least for me, that wore off very quickly. I've been a long-time regular participant here in the Digital Photography subforum (with a break of a few years) and I don't recall that we've ever experienced quite this sort of situation before. To be honest, at least to me this whole cat thing has felt rather invasive, as though it sort of took on a life of its own, rapidly becoming rather jarring and then downright annoying and then positively irritating. Whatever.
That's just my perspective, my take on things, and of course other members here will have their own thoughts, opinions and choices.....

I count 17 car/truck pictures. I guess it's a question of how you interpret some of them. Two of my pictures were about public servants. The vehicles were incidental. Regardless, it was fun to see other stuff.
Now, let's see that picture of your cat driving your car.
IMO the photo association thread is sort of a living thing that ebbs and flows. I have also felt a bit inundated with cats, but that said I primarily flood the photo threads with flowers and I would hate for someone to ask me to stop posting those.
in the end I think everyone should post what they love. These are lighthearted threads, after all.
