Mt. Hood from the same place as my previous shot. I was standing at the base of the Palmer glacier near the Silcox Hut above Timberline ski area. This was taken within minutes of the other shot, and the light and weather was constantly changing.

Lovely golden lighting here, excellent advantage of light at the time of the shot.

Mt. Hood from the same place as my previous shot.

I prefer this to the other, earlier, shot, lighting is better, more dramatic.

tonight from the Pearl District in Portland. It is the Portland City Grill building (well, the restaurant is on the top floor). I was drunk and testing out my lens!

25 second exposure i believe.

Great atmosphere. I would prefer it a bit brighter though.

The white is blindingly distracting.
EDIT: Actually when its small its not bad. But on the large its just toooo much whitespace.

Yeah I did think that, trouble was I wanted to get the whole hat in rather than a macro shot, I tried it with a black sheet first but it wasn't distinguishable from the background, shame really.

Bald Eagle with branch

Caught this female Bald Eagle in-flight with a branch for the nest. She ended up getting the branch caught on her head while trying to put it in place. She really freaked out trying to get the branch off. It took her over three minutes of fighting with the branch before she finally used her foot to get it off and it fell off the tree. She glared at it a moment longer then decided to find something better to do. I felt sorry for her but it was absolutely hilarious. A longer series of the fight can be found here.

Spitfirejd: I love the bald eagle picture, as well as the story. There are a couple of bald eagles in a park near by where I live. Next camping trip I think will be there, or perhaps just a day trip.

Apollo7011: Awesome shot of the duck. I tried and tried to get a shot like that when I was camping, although not the same kind of ducks, it seemed like I watched and watched and watched, then right after I turned the camera off or put it away, a duck came in for a landing or took off. I really like how you captured the reflection in the water as well, awesome shot.

Here is mine for today...

He caught more fish than I did. He caught two in the 10 or so minutes of my watching, I caught nothing except some sun on my face...

IMO, a beige or gray background would have suited it better. Cool hat, and an excellent shot none the less.
