Kinderdijk?

Yes. My first visit ever...

explanation for the non dutch.
Sunday morning 9:30. Windy, dark clouds, possible rain and still there are at least four buses filled with tourists. It must be hell in the summer time.

It's a beautiful however.

You haven't visited De Zaanse Schans then in weekends. It's a true madhouse (I'm a volunteer on oil mill De Zoeker so I know :) ).

Explaining for the non-Dutch: The Zaanse Schans is an old part of the city of Zaandam (just north of Amsterdam), the oldest (and first) industrial area in Europe. Around the 18th century we had over 1600 windmills here. Now 10 of them exist along a part of the river De Zaan, with one of them being the only fully operational paint mill in the world (De Kat, translated The Cat) alongside others, including oil mills and wood cutters.

I really like this as an abstract of the kiddo.

Would love to pretend that I planned it to turn out this way, but it was luck. Was using a 105mm macro lens with the kiddo running towards me. Sharp lens, but tends to focus hunt at times. My intention was to get his face in focus filling the frame. Almost trashed this on review, but it kept sticking in my head and needling me.

So sharing this as a mistake that I think ended up being more interesting than what I initially planned.

That's another place I still have to visit...

WOW...this is great anotherscotsman. You've captured the feeling of Arizona so well with the simplicity, warm colours and and tones.

I'd be proud of this and would print and frame it.

Much appreciated Peter - I might just do that.

Here's another view of Arizona. This one is from Jerome, once a major copper mine which was essentially deserted in the 1950's and is now populated by a small number of artistic types and weekend visitors from Phoenix. A real boom-to-bust town that really was part of the Wild West. Comments always appreciated.

This was before they went with their pals to the trampoline centre so they didnt look neat and tidy for long after this!

Shot with an 85mm? Did you crop much? Bird in flight is still a holy grail I'm yet to nail.

I think I cut about 50% of the original out - the gull was literally over my head, swooping and soaring in the warm air. I got a lot of blurry ones as well, using MF.

Cheers :)
