Well, it is a Jaguar but I've never seen one with a hood ornament like this. Might have to do some research as to when the "Leaper" came about. From what I've been able to find, the "Leaper" was introduced in 1937. Unfortunately I did not note the year/model. Lots of members from "across the pond", perhaps they might be able to shed some light on this fellow. Cheers

Just catching up with the forum so sorry for the long post!

Wastwater, this morning...

These are beautiful Doylem.

Stumbled into a new project I'm calling "The Benchwarmers." Street photos of people hanging out on the bench.

Great title for the project! :)

While jogging ran into this strange sheep.

Just enough light from a second safari vehicle off to our right.

Magnificent!

I'm just back from more than a month on the road, 25 of those nights spent sleeping in a tent, and three of those weeks teaching photography workshops. Hard to keep up with you guys with this kind of schedule, but I do try! Here is a new shot from last month, taken in Death Valley National Park. You can click HERE to read all about these crazy conditions. Clicking on the photo should show it larger.

I love the beautiful, airy feel you've given this picture. It's beautiful. How do you protect your camera and lens from flying sand in those conditions or do you have one that's built like a tank?

View attachment 627567 Stuck in Heathrow airport without my camera so here is one of my youngest taken before her sisters birthday party on Sunday.

This was before they went with their pals to the trampoline centre so they didnt look neat and tidy for long after this!

She's cute! :)

The Love Locks craze has hit Newcastle! Taken from the High Level Bridge, looking onto the Tyne Bride. I hope Conrad and Chris are still blissfully happy!

Lol. You sure that isnt just a site that is particularly prone to getting your bike knicked from? :)

Where is that taken from the high level bridge? Love that the best bridge in the world is visible there in the background.

I missed this one! Glad @Ish did a catch up.

Stunning image! Fabulous lighting. Imaging popping your head out your tent and shining your torch on her! Wow... Question though... Which nominated victim held your speedlite for this one? :)

I'd be impressed if they chain their bikes at eye level!
Good spot bridge wise - it is the High Level!

Less lost in L.A.
Another experiment with my Celestron C8 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope. This one is on the other extreme of distance. The house is 4 miles away and the air currents during the day were mostly very active causing blurry images. I took this later in the afternoon.

Sony a6000, f10, 2000mm. No cropping.

If your browser supports animated PNGs, tap or click on the image to get a feel of the active air currents earlier in the day.

This is one of two houses in the area with a built in observatory. The other one is a B&B.

Thanks, Ish. I guess it's mostly just the weather sealing of the camera and lens, but sand does get into the cracks around buttons. Never a problem, though. It grinds up into dust and works its way out eventually. I've now lead several workshops out in windy conditions on the dunes, and no gear was harmed. It is always a distinct highlight of the trip for all involved.

Here is another dunes shot from Death Valley, quite a bit different from the last one. You can find the story that goes with it on my Facebook page (link is in my signature).

Thanks! Yes, a very different feel from the last one. Maybe owing to both the cool colours and the finer detail in this one. I love reading your stories behind the photographs.

Had a double photoshoot today, haven't had time to properly edit the photos

Here is one of the two subjects nevertheless as it is going to take some time to fully edit them

I am finding new inspiration in making my subjects feel comfortable in their skin and against the lens.
Moreover, I am getting to feel more comfortable with myself behind the lens along with making requests, giving instructions and implementing their own suggestions and requests, all this while pretending to know what I am doing.

Thank you both. Honestly Ken, my biggest concern in Africa (especially at night) was snakes. I hate snakes and they have some really nasty ones there.

Comments always appreciated.

Nice one anotherscotsman. Just a suggestion...check your colour levels and try desaturating your blues. Atmosphere and this type of light can cause that spectrum to appear over-saturated. Reducing the blue may bring-out more of the red and green in the cliffs.

Cheers Peter - I'll have a play and see what happens and repost if your suggestion works (which I'm sure it will)
