I like how there's a lot of colour in the front with the red branches and it naturally fades as the image progresses to the back. What park was it shot in?DSC_8032.jpg on Flickr

Wow thats a lot of tuning!
Had plenty of details to attend to, that's true.
For info, this was shot with a canon 100D and a 70-300L
I sold most of my canon gear to transition to sony, only to be left with two canon 100Ds due to the situation in Greece. However, I find myself pleasantly surprised that enticing images can be produced with less than ideal equipment. Of course this was a studio shot where lighting was manipulated to fit my needs, but I like them 100Ds more and more.
Something closer to sunset. The tree is a bit of a distraction but thought (at the time) it would add a bit of scale. Comments always appreciated.

It's April on the International Dateline.
Welcome to Photo of the Day. The POTD thread was started by iGary in May, 2006 and converted to a monthly thread in November 2007 by Arn. POTD is one of the most popular picture groups on MacRumors, often exceeding 500 posts and 20,000 views per month.
Photo of the Day is intended to be a showcase for your best pictures. There is no limit to your gear, just your imagination. P&S and film cameras are welcome along with DSLRs. There are no themes like the Weekly Contest, and no winners (or losers) either.

Playing with the NIK presents
I love the colors you captured and the light is wonderful. The foreground doesn't do as much for me and I wonder how it would have looked tilted up slightly to catch more of the dramatic sky and less of the foreground. Just a thought.
Have really enjoyed the photos you've been posting.
Lmao... I think it is hilarious that you use a term we understand but then end up typing more to explain, than you would have ifnyou would just typed rather busy.... So funny... And superb to see you staying true to the sayings.Cheers, I'd certainly agree with your comments - problem was that this particular location is absolutely hoaching (Scottish colloquial for rather busy) with photographers at sunset and space is at a premium. I've got a couple of others that probably do better composition wise.
Here's a B&W landscape. Comments always appreciated.

Took the Sony 28mm to 70mm kit lens out for a spin on this evening's dog walk to compare it to the Leica Elmar. First time I've used an AF lens for ages. Found it a bit boring to be honest. Plus the kit lens is a bit meh in comparison.
Sony A7 with Sony 28-70 @F4.5.
I have a 100D as well and the images are fantastic. Just the body is a bit too small and light for my hands and with the 70-300L not a pleasure to work with
I have had a different revelation on the other hand with canon's kit lens efs 18-55 STM
I find it to be pin sharp with excellent color rendition in comparison to the 2x priced ef 28mm f2.8 IS
someone in here had also modified it to fit the EF mount since his findings were similar. I think it was Schtumple

yes, front-weighting can become an issue, but I have life-hacked it by adding an aftermarket tripod ring mount and holding it from there
