He is one of the reasons I started taking pictures more seriously when I was 14. One of his prints was up in my art class wall and it blew me away. I then got into photography more after seeing that. He was a big influence for me.

Colin Prior is one of the best landscape photographers there is and one of my very favourites. I have all of his books apart from his most recent one.

Enjoy the course, I'd love to be able to go on one :) Let us know how it goes!

Will let you know. He lives in Bothwell so maybe you and I could get a day of tuition with him down the line... you can show him how it is done right! :)

Wherever I hang my hat...
Is the old watermill still there?

Yes, but it was shrouded in scaffolding...

The parlour of the Queens Head in Tolleshunt D’Arcy; that’s my pint on the table…

I hope you're watching The Adventure Show on BBC2 Scotland right now....

I'd probably turn into a gibbering wreck if I met him. Such a huge inspiration.

I class a 'professional' photographer as someone who is able to sell his product.

The clients wanting landscape photographs are quite rare.

My old friend Charles lived in that mill with his Irish Setter. Both gone now-many years ago:(.

That is one of my Setters in the background.

Charles was a grand character, well known throughout Norfolk.

A rare good memory of a good man. Thank you for the reminder.

Good picture, by the way.

Regards. Sharkey

You won't be disappointed, it was a great watch. I enjoyed his first instalment featuring the Karakoram in Pakistan - unbelievable.

As for the workshop, take a camera and lenses that are best suited to the subject matter and won't get between you and what you want to capture. He won't be bothered about brand / SLR / ML etc. He'll just want you to use a camera system you know well and can work easily without any hassle. Less faff, more photo in other words.

You will enjoy it, he is one of the best around :)

Agree. But many professional's son't work for clients but sell through stock sites.

I class a professional as someone who knows what he is doing!

Only shoot what you own. No point having any more Leica lust in your life.
