Mate, I have these moments every time I pick up my camera!

This is a good image IMHO. I like the rich colours. Maybe warm it up, straighten the horizon (sorry cheap shot) and lift the gorgeous detail in the foreground rocks. other than that it works.

Story of our lives mate... driving home with kids from clubs, no camera, stunning skies of fire...

Carrying heavy bags of shopping in from the car, skies of fire, run in grab camera, moment has passed...

Camera ready beside you, free pass from the boss to go stand outside in peace and quiet? cloudy rain, no life in the sky... DAMNIT!!!
Thats it exactly! We all deal with it. I suppose those that go out more regularly get the luck when the light changes. I just don't get out al that often any more. One day my free time, inspiration and lighting will all be in alignment!
Actually this mornings light was quite good so it was nice to get out even if it was just an hour.

That is the benefit of being a photographer by trade. They get to choose when they go to places. We have to align planetary systems in order to get the timing to capture a shot.

But that torture we put ourselves through is why we enjoy it right? lol...

A short stone causeway leading into the water on the southern shores of Loch Dee in the Galloway Hills.
This was again captured in a bit of a rush when the sunshine burst through and lasted only 15 minutes before succumbing to heavy cloud and wind from the West.
I love the contrast of the light that burst through the clouds, illuminating the sides of Craiglee, Craignaw and Dungeon Hill in the background. What a place.

Fuji X-T2 & XF 16-55mm f2.8 lens using LEE Filters 0.6 Neutral Density Soft Graduated filter.

That's the reason I started taking my camera to work. I am fortunate to now have a job that only has a 20 minute commute, by bicycle. So plenty time and room to take photos. I've missed plenty of great sunrises, foggy mornings when the sun tries to break through, ships suddenly appearing out of nowhere in the fog ( remember, this is the Netherlands. We have 84 words for fog. :) )

Plus add in a generous helping of lack of talent! It's a wonder I ever post anything!

Nothing to take on my journey to work really. Plus I'm always in a hurry to get there or get home!

This is what I sometimes see. Mostly without a camera. (repost)

Are those people on the left part of a wedding? Popular spot. Must be weird to take wedding photos while the paragliders almost hit you on the head.

Well yeah and the brides must be really disappointed to be right next to another bride who is more pretty/nicer dress/better looking groom etc... way to ruin her big day!

Paragliders have been using the site for a decade or more. Chinese wedding parties hit Phuket more recently. Now they come in droves head for scenic spots all over the island. They don't seem to have a problem with sharing a spot with others. They just get on with doing their own thing.

Wow I'd say it's expensive, but I forgot money is no object for you Leica boys! ;)

I think I'll sign up to @Doylem's landscape courses. He looks like he knows what he's doing!

I have hit a plateau again and figured I would go do something about it. With my brother in law out of action building job wise, then we have a delay to getting the back room done and so I have the chance to use some cash for a course. Colin Prior does some lovely landscapes, it is a Leica Akademie event so I get to play with toys and it is in Gleneagles so I get to take the girls to let them enjoy the hotel facilities while I go play photographer. So I am hoping it is a win win...

I suppose you have to do something whilst you wait for your M10 to be delivered!
He does have some beautiful pictures. Looking forward to seeing the results.
