I was thinking the other day that we hadn't seen you for a bit!
Nicely done.A shameless cover pic for my Facebook photography page. Oh the humanity!
Fuji X-T2 sitting on a beanbag in some tick-infested grass. I used my wireless transmitter to click the shutter. I had to PP this a bit to bring up the darks and ease the highlights as I couldn't use filters (they were attached to the GX617 in the pic). There is a slight halo effect around me and the camera/tripod that I'm not happy about but it will do for now. The keen eyed will notice I was lumping two bags around with me. One on my back, the smaller on my front. I looked like a bit of a dork but the beauty of the Galloway Hills is that there is virtually no-one around to notice

@pmxperience inspired me with his hometown photo -- here's one of my hometown. Anybody else live here?
Fresh from the press: a night-time panorama of my hometown's municipal port.

Handheld at 200mm, 1/8 sec? How in the heck did that not turn out blurry?

Those saturated sunset pictures tend to be a magnet for likes and shares on social media. No surprise there I suppose -- they're the photos that POP the most when people are quickly scrolling down their social media feed. Just the way it goes. Thanks, glad you enjoyed this image. It's not been as popular on my FB photography page because it's not a sunset or something with swirly, misty water. I do feel the shot was technically more demanding and intrinsically more satisfying for me to shoot compared to my seascapes. I often find that is the case - what I like isn't always what other people like!
I'm glad you like the back story, it's nice to know my typing isn't a waste of time! One of my mates winds me up about typing too much! I was also shooting some 6x17 slide film on my Fuji GX617. It's a beast and a true delight to use due to the thought processes and calculations involved.
As for the X-T2, I absolutely love it. Moved from a Canon 5D to this system and never looked back. I've not once used the X-T2 and thought "man, I wish I had the Canon right now." I think that speaks volumes
Thanks. Extremely good lens, optical stabilisation, luckHandheld at 200mm, 1/8 sec? How in the heck did that not turn out blurry?
And where is this?
It's further south than that: it's Münster, Germany.Bottom pic:
Im curious too so I'm going to guess. A Scandinavian city? Is it Oslo, Norway? Where are you at, @Janichsan?!

Sounds like the weather when I went!Just back from the lakes, mother nature blessed me with dull grey skies and drizzle, still at least the local cafe's were on form..

There is no way I could ever be described as being holy and righteous!Lol... yeah thats funny because I born in Worcester then my dad was stationed in Scarborough at the Royal Signals training camp there then we moved to Newcastle (home for my dad) so I am a Geordie by upbringing. Travelling with work, I have had to change the way I speak to allow people to understand me so my accent is all jumbled up. Been living in Glasgow for 16 years now and my mum is a weegie so I honestly would have expected the accent to have taken hold by now but I dont think it has. I love talking to my daughters on the phone because face to face I cant hear their accents but on the phone they are broad weegie... so funny.

Lovely fella. We had the Mother in Laws Bichon for a play date yesterday. I was cutting chicken for him and he was pogo'ing like crazy! he is nuts.
Nice to see you were on the floor with him.

You know your signature says exiled to the swamp. If that is what you think a swamp is, then move over, I am moving in!
