I revisited the Zinnia flower this afternoon with a speedlite bounced off the ceiling to give it a softer light.
Same early morning stroll last week. This time a view of one of the main streets in the town that I live in.

Zagato, it is that steep. It's like a roller coaster. But since it is a main street it does get plowed. This was taken from the main entrance to the college (Montana Tech) which sits at the top of the hill, so that is an incentive for the town to keep the street open.Same early morning stroll last week. Like it. Actually has the form of a big old bullfrog shot from behind!Rock on the shore.
Originally in color, it just didn't have the contrast and highlights right. Converted to monochrome and enhanced a bit.

So, I googled Montana Tech. Butte, MT. Went to their site and scrolled through their photos. Loved that they have a frisbee golf course and mountain bike riding map. Ore Diggers, cool. Have to put it on my list to visit. Cheers
If you come for a visit, give me a heads up.
The Wheel by another scotsman, on Flickr
The Falkirk Wheel is a rotating boat lift connecting the Forth & Clyde and Union canals in Central Scotland. The lift was opened in 2002 (the canals are older (1790 and 1820 respectively)) and were formally joined by a stairway of locks. The wheel raises boats by about 80' and is one of two working boat lifts in the United Kingdom, the other being the Anderton boat lift in Cheshire (I've posted a pic of this one previously).
Nice. Wellies are often required to get the best angles at these places. I'd pull back the exposure a tad on the moving water though.Took my brother to Finnich Glen yesterday - this time I wore wellies and the water was low enough to walk into the water so better angles available.

The Kelpies by another scotsman, on Flickr
100-foot tall statues of mythical horses (kelpies) in memory of those that pulled the barges on the Scottish canals. Built of stainless steel tiles on a tubular framework - I'm not the most artistic person but they certainly have an animated feel to them.
That's when you need to upgrade to chest waders!I need to work on this a bit more. You are right. I was pushed for time as there were tourists everywhere so rushed myself - schoolboy error.
I can go back. Was funny seeing the people who hadnt been before or researched it in their once-white trainers... tee hee...
I climbed over a tree stump and stood in a muddy puddle at one point and lets put it this way, it tested the height limits of my wellies! I thought it was going to swallow me whole! Bother in Law was in bits laughing at me!
