Thanks for the comments about my wind turbine shot (and, yes, Fuzzy14, these are the ones you see from the motorway near Tebay). It was just a 'grabbed' shot, when the sun came out for a few seconds... a good enough reason to have the camera in the car even when the weather looks unpromising. Round here it can change very quickly...

Was out on the weekend shooting some flowers not far from home. I was trying some different things, shooting mostly with 300mm lens.

My fishing spot

I was playing with PS3 extended tonight.
stitching three hand held shoots i had taken a couple of weeks ago.
It only got to 58 today and has rained all week. I miss the sun!
Anyway, the view is from just across the street from my house.

I pity you! What a terrible view.... :)
The horizon is not level, that bothers me a little.

At home
Went to the local observatory late last night - saw Jupiter on their telecope.

The view in the telescope was obviously slightly better than my photo at 300mm zoom but what the hell. I quite liked it

Enough Work?

Nikon D40, 50mm

After discussing work related stuff, a good glass of wine helped to let the day fade out.
It was kind of dim, this one is 1/20 at f/1.8 and iso1600 pushed 1.5 stops.

Thanks for the comment. I went back and realigned the horizon.:)

nukiduz striking image.

Martin C your HDR image is very cool, I had to go back and back and take a third look at it. Maybe I am just hungry, but I think it is the quality of the image.

What does that mean? How does one "push" ISO?

It works by pushing the histogram to the right side.
In lot's of pp programs you have a slider that says exposure, there you can adjust your exposure.

In my case the exposure was "made brighter" 1.5 stops.

OK, thanks. I thought you were talking about some kind of in-camera setting, not PP.

By the way, the BW conversion works really well on that photo. The documentary feel adds a level of interest that probably wouldn't be there otherwise.
