Another shot from my new lens :D

Thanks very much Fett (love the wagon shot) and Revenuee

This is not the greatest photo - but it is lucky. My Father-in-law told me what I was seeing tonight wasn't bats but was birds.

I went into the house picked up my camera (70-300mm zoom attached) - set the zoom to 70mm - took a guess at the focus (manual obviously) - opened the flash. Waited for a bat to fly past me and ........ I took one picture and one picture only.

Great shot, I dont know how you got this, I have tried to photograph bats in flight and gave up thinking it was near impossible.

Nikon D40, 30mm

here we were, sitting at the terminals that allow to play on the roulette-tables hidden in the bokeh. why not play directly at the table? fear of social contact? dislike of the sweat laden air at the table?
all these questions pop in the head and can be answered by a quick "there was no room", and "the view blocked by overweight people".

have a nice day.

FIRST POST!!! I just got a new imac to deal with the literally 1000's of photos i have already taken with my ~4month old Nikon D300. I was googling comparisons between Aperture and Nikon Capture and found this site. I'm hooked. Had I found you a few weeks earlier this would have been my gravity submission for the weekly photo contest.

Another shot of the dam, after Fay returned and dumped even more rain this morning (and a couple of tornadoes). This time water actually spilled over the top of the dam, the spillway just wasn't enough. There is some damage, but it's noting too bad.

This is one of my first attempts at HDR. I purposefully didn't go overboard (not a fan of that), I just used it appropriately, I felt. -2, 0, +2EV, merged with Photomatix.

I have just recently started attempting macro shots. Not true macro as my lense is an 18-200 super zoom, and there is no way to focus close enough on the shorter focal lengths.

Could I ask a favour? Could everybody post their EXIF details next to their photos as it does help us amateurs and stops (or at least might reduce) us asking so many daft questions. Thanks!
