Never heard of Piel Island (I should visit that bit of Cumbria some day). Fully functioning pub sounds like it's a place I need to visit!
It's a bit off the beaten track... thank goodness. This is the castle... just before it falls into the sea...

I wish the Bee was facing the butterfly....

Seriously? At first I thought it was photoshopped on! Nice shot to get them both in focus.
Thanks! More luck than judgment I'm afraid![]()

Taken with my Galaxy S4.
Crowd looks a might thin but it is the Jets and the Lions
*I am a Stafford fan....Go DAWGS!
Nice double shot. I like the color coordination of the butterfly and the flower.
Here's another butterfly photo from this past weekend to follow your theme.

It looks okay on my monitor (although everybody's will be different, so take colour advice with a pinch of salt). The thing with grass is it can vary in colour an awful lot. How do you remember it looking? It certainly doesn't look odd to me.
Thanks for the comment Archie, St Ive's is definitely a pretty place when it starts to get dark.
Again, like apple fanboy says the grass looks good to me! It looks like a very natural shade to my eyes ... That's a really cool composition though! The positioning of the girl makes it seem like she is sunbathing in the biggest garden ever! Could you describe your thought process of placing the girl towards the bottom left? It really works, but I'm not sure why it works! Was that the intention to emphasise the large space she was in?
Personally I prefer the first. Not sure if its the left to right thing or the model facing the other way.I think the big issue for me is that I have just realised that my monitor on my desktop is going caput and therefore all the colours are not what they seem and I find myself getting paranoid now! Currently on my laptop it's looking a little warm but it was a summers day so I suppose I can get away with it!
I knew that I could get the vantage of the expanse of grass from a window in the house so it was a case of getting my composition to work for me. Figuring how most people read from left to right I decided it would make sense to have her flowing from left to right however, the shadow didn't help me much.
I opted for bottom left as because of the angle I was at placing her in the top of the frame would have made her very small!
I had someone else with me who suggested this alternate composition and I am still not really sure which one I prefer. Still umming and arrring about what I would have done differently but that is one thing I love about shooting film as I have to trust my instinct and don't get frustrated looking at the LCD trying to figure out what went wrong!
As always, comments appreciated!

Wow, great photos in this thread!
I just got back from two months of work in the SW Pacific, so I have a ton of photos to share! Here is one from New Caledonia:
