Thank you - was very much inspired by your earlier horological postings in this thread.

I also enjoy your London photos, particularly the Tube station ones - very evocative and really reminds me of my life working in London before I was exiled to the desert.

Patches, the Wonder Cat, keeping a very dubious eye on me without shifting her head. It makes her eye look a bit freaky, especially with such a thin slit of iris, as it was very bright.

She looks quite tough - is she a hunter?

Cheers :)

Hugh

She's a definite character, one of those cats that wants what she wants, when she wants it. I keep her well fed, but she does love to try and stalk the doves that come into the garden. With two little terriers in the yard, she doesn't have any success though, as they have an obsession for barking and chasing off birds on the ground. We have frog/fish ponds and she tries to catch the fish, but again without success, she doesn't like wet paws!

Venetian evening

Photo didn't quite capture the ethereal feel of early evening but in a place like Venice, does it ever? Comments appreciated as always.

It's still come out nicely though!

I personally would have made the image more punchy, but I am going through vibrant phase at the moment.

Here's mine. Horizon lines were a nightmare and I wasn't sure what I should level too. Any tips?

The horizon of the sea should be a good one; that'll give you the true horizon and set the structure upright. I wonder what would happen if you then use the 'upright' tool in LR5 (if you have LR5?). It may sort out the cloud/horizon wedge thingy you've got going on :)

You are great at nailing focus. Do you zone focus or try for critical? Well done

I could see that next to two more hanging in a line in my kitchen.... lovely effect. See i have the eye of a techie. I struggle to visualise things so when i can see and imagine something like this, i think it is the highest compliment i can give if that makes sense.

Spring is on the way! This is a new season pear flower, using the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 macro lens at f/2.8. Post-production for this and most of my previous images is in Lightroom from raw images, without the use of any add-on packs or presets. I have NIK and Topaz's B&W add-ons, but never fire them up any more and I prefer not to use any of the inbuilt presets that Lightroom offers, instead having control of the images outcome myself. I'm a self-confessed control freak...
