Don't be so modest, there's definitely some skill in capturing those images, regardless of the subject.
That is still with the Jupiter 8. I'm really enjoying the little bugger. I haven't tried any Zeiss lenses unfortunately.
Hi Guys, These pictures made me want to go buy a Jupiter 8! I love the legacy glass characteristics.
I had a Jenna Flektogon 35mm f2.4 up to a month or so ago. It gives beautiful pictures when you can nail the focus. Unfortunately the focus throw is too short for my clumsy technique right now so I sold it on.
When I get better with manual focus - still practicing on a Leica Elmar-c 90 and a Jenna 135 f3.5 (both beautiful BTW), then I may try again but for 50 & 35 I have gone the easy route and bought the dedicated lenses for the camera.
Of course as usual, I have no quality images to back this claim up sorry.
Ken.
Met up with a photog friend last night at sunset, and were treated to an amazing display of color (never seen anything like it).
We've had the oddest weather lately. Monsoons in SoCal, in August.

Grab yourself a Jupiter 8. You can get them for peanuts and they render really nicely. Here's a shot I took on the way to the post office this afternoon.

not having any available model, so I have to practice on myself (which means a lot of walk back to camera, then back to speedlight, then back to mark, and repeat ad nauseam.)
I'll keep at it.
It's annoying, but it's the best way to learn how to utilise the technique. I had some time to fill in before a shoot on the weekend and figured I'd play around with some low key and new gels
And before you little ****ers start. Yes, I know I'm not a very good model. Leave me alone.![]()
I've been thinking of doing a shot like this for a while, and finally had a chance to try my hand at it over the weekend. Since part of the frame is submerged underwater, I had to resort to my only waterproof camera at hand - an iPhone in a lifeproof case. With its tiny lens, it took a dozen tries to get the water line where I wanted it (sort of). Next time will have to try and get a less distracting background
