Don't call a Speedmaster Pro a load of rubbish! That's one of my future purchases after I've sold one of my internal organs.
Here's one of my Orient Bambino and then I'm done with the watch pics for a while, I promise.

Now, THAT is a nice timepiece! I regret the day I sold mine and they have gotten SO expensive since.
Yup ... the Speedmaster's pretty good , it's been my 'daily driver' since I got it about 25 years back . Absolutely troublefree . Like you , I've wanted to get my hands on a Portugese for many years ( The rose gold one ) . Oddly , now that I'm retired , and could write the check to get one , it's not that important any more . When I left work , my retirement gift to me ( one of them) was a 1979 Seiko Jumbo , I can wear it without guilt , and without worrying about getting whacked over the head for it ,unlike the IWC .

Still trying to decide if I like this angle.
angle is nice
I took the liberty to make a post prod suggestion
thought that this photo's subject does require a wide format and stamping out the distractions around (people, palm trees, a mini hifi? and a plant). some marginal contrast added too, not much.
all in all, a nice photo indeed!!
Nicely done! Thank you. I usually don't do any cloning (i'm not good at it). But this image certainly benefits from removing the distrations.
That aside. If you don't mind doing me a favor. Take a look at the other angles I took of the same subject (on my Flckr page). For me, this is an exercise in finding that right composition, with an object of interest in the foreground of a wide angle landscapey shot. Let me know if you think any particular ones work better than the others.
Thanks.
0307, 0308 are definitely not worth it, allow me to suggest to even remove them from your flickr. 0305 is a nice general overview of the place, though I would crop it (or stamp out) the trees on the far right.
If I had to choose one though, that would be the one you posted with the edits I suggested.![]()
Thanks a lot!
It must have been a couple of weeks since I posted a watch picture so here's one I took yesterday of my beloved Mako.

Orients are sooooo under appreciated. They need more love. Bought one for my son and he loves it.
I was fortunate to get the proboscis in the shot.

The Portuguese was my 40th birthday gift to myself so it is special to me in lots of ways. Strange though that you say that about getting bumped for it. I always thought the uneducated preferred to target Rolex wearers and I havent had any undue attention for the IWC.
I really like the Speedmaster. It has some heritage about it, something unique. I didnt realise that the reason the Daytona wasnt considered in the Nasa tests was because Rolex refused to loan Nasa some test units.
Was also funny to read about the pressure testing. All testing on watches was done under pressure not strain fundamental misjudgement on the direction of the forces of space. Result was all the crystals popped off the Speedmasters in spaceIf you ring Omega, they are usually happy to send you a copy of the book if you havent got one already.
I suppose now you are kicking back enjoying the result of your labour, you dont need a watch so much but that Seiko sounds mighty nice too.
