Okay, since sunsets seem to be quite popular at the moment, here's one from me:

You're making me want to come visit the U.K. Although I must admit, if I squint, it could look a bit like some areas of the California coast.

Mono Lake, California. A hike I did not have time to go for, unfortunately, due to lack of time. It was very hot midday, and I bet the place lights up in all sorts of beautiful colors as the sun sets. Some day.

On a tangent, does anyone want an infrared converted Nikon D80? It's a fun camera, but I have not really used it in years. Seems like a shame to waste it.

I had a chance to get there a few years back . Pretty surreal place , but great at dawn/dusk . If you get back there , don't forget to get to Bodie ,too .

Ok got to ask the dumb question... why the hoodie under water?
I wondered that and guessed it was some sort of survival training. I vaguely remember swimming in my pyjamas at school age for something or other.

Hahaha!!! I actually did have to learn how to swim with jeans and sneakers on and how to take stuff off to survive and then use the jeans as a life preserver!

But in actuality, we are a very fair skinned family, and that particular sun shirt had a hood. Great for the beach, but not so much the pool. ;)

I have a big stupid floppy hat I where when out on (rare) sunny days here when I'm shooting. I look like an idiot in it but I can't where sunglasses with my camera and my skin burns fairly quickly.

hehehe, my wife considers it a present when I'm gone. I sometimes get the impression she calls my friends to ask them to invite me to go hiking for a weekend. :)

So you either misbehave or find her a 'special friend'. (big and handsome) and you will have plenty of time to go out.

LOL...I get the same treatment (privilege?) but often wonder if I should be worried when she always insists that I "don't hurry home".

Saw a composite image on Instagram from someone of Antelope Canyon and a night sky, so thought I would have a bash from the my library... bit of a laugh... posted for your entertainment

Well I'm definitely entertained Ken. This is an outstanding composite. Some may turn their noses up at this sort of thing but I say if works, give it a go. Without doubt, this works very well and I wish it was my work.

I end up tying myself in knots between sunglasses and constantly turning a baseball cap back and forth to take shots...

Yes joking aside I like how you take a minimal angle with a limited amount of the subject in it, yet we know exactly what it is

Ahhhh. Dang, getting pretty technical on me. Just going where my eye was leading me. Glad you liked it. Cheers

Another long exposure of the health precinct region in the city.

Boy, I like this. The sky, the interesting shape of the white building, the red brick building adding color and the yellow building behind that one. Plus it's just so clean. Smoooooooth. I like.

See thats the thing... No, no record contracts here to lose... Just a fat hairy IT guy...
If only you had a record contract. You could buy that M10!

Not a sunset...Comments always appreciated.

Santa Fe start of a journey

To my eye it looks off balance. The lines in the centre and the right make it look odd. I'm looking for something on the left to balance it.

Cheers AFB, I'd agree with you about the balance - tried taking the shot from the track but wasn't any better so I stuck with focussing on the big yellow leading line instead. There was also a lot of dross over to the left of the shot that wasn't worth incorporating.
